i think the premium price is a fair price, its a premium bat, if you don't like the price simply don't buy the premium by the MMI,
its just at the moment i cant buy either looking for some doh :P

Tom - genuinely hope the 20/20 tournament goes well for you boys, Hayden was a good choice in my opinion.
I picked up on this on the cricketnext site.....

"Since there is no splice, the sweet spot is increased by 120 per cent," he said........does Fernandez even know his own product???
I know he is probably indicating the blade has no visible splice, but it makes it sound like a spliceless bat which it isnt.

If you watch the launch vid here SS, you'll see it's a portion of a longer quote which explains it. Ignore first 47 secs of adverts

I think it has already been covered that the splice is exactly the same as a standard bat but not seen as shoulders shaved away.

I didn't see the match today, what model did Symond's use?

I'd like to know how Marcus can say that the MMI3 picks up better than a standard bat, he has to have cocked that up ;)

I think he's just going on what some pro's have said Mike on pickup, Shane Warne has been on the TV commentating the same. We do get some which pick up amazingly, just like you do with standard bats.

Shoulders shaved away (although how many people hold their regular bats round the shoulders) and splices moved into the handle same thing. Depends how pernickety you want to be.

The latter for me is a better description as a handle is defined as something you hold, you're holding the splice and by definition the splice is now the handle.

I believe that you are meant to grip the Mongoose as you would a normal bat, so having no shoulders does not make the handle bigger unless it is for gripping the bat with, in which case with a lower grip you will have less bat speed than a normal bat.

I don't find any normal bats pick up lighter than others through anything other than shape. The lower the mass of wood the heavier the pick up. Since the mongoose has the lowest mass it picks up the heaviest pound for pound. There is a very simple way to tell and that is to measure the COG (Centre Of Gravity), the lower the heavier the pick up.

Anyway too late in the night to argue now, hope you had a good day in Winchester.

Mike, if you want to argue with what Shane Warne has said then feel free. Marcus also said in his opinion. I am not the one saying it. I can honestly say we've had some which pick up no different at all to a normal bat and feel very nice.

Lost me with the first bit, but it seems like you're trying to argue that the handle is a not a handle? The whole length of the grip can be used to grip the bat with, you can play flicky dilscoop style shots by moving your hands up  and down it.

Question. Just because you don't always grip a broom down next to the brush does that make that section not a handle?

A, it is a handle if it is intended to be handled.

Dilshan plays the shot quite well without the MMi3, I play upper cuts over the slips with my bottom hand on the blade, does that make it a handle?

I'm not going to argue about someone's opinion, it can not be proved or disproved, that is why marketing firms use them so much. But the COG measurement does away with arguements, why not just send me the highest COG you have for a MMi3 for my reference chart as at the moment it is nailed to the bottom.

I see Symond's is just using his normal bat with Mongoose stickers, maybe that is why he went cheaply!!!

Actually had a bit of fun at nets last night - one of the colt players borrowed the MMi3 Custom Pro. He had fun with it to be fair and it went well when he got blade on the ball. Will have to try it out for myself soon so that I can comment fully.

And I noticed that too! Is it me or did Symond's 'Mongoose' have a splice??
I assume that if I wasn't seeing things, then he was using another bat and stickered it up with goose labels??

Obviously, symo or hayden aren't gonna use a bat from hunts county. I'd bet haydens has a splice.
