England’s bowling attack is pretty disappointing. Anderson is down on pace in the second dig, but understandability as he’s like 50 years old(joking).
Broad has been poor after all the begging for a recall.
Stokes bowling absolute pies
And there seems no real confidence in Parkinson

So the side is in, and there is no Harry Brook. Potts debuts. The new era begins. Trying not to be skeptical.

Crawley
Lees
Pope
Root
Bairstow
Stokes
Foakes
Potts
Leach
Broad
Anderson

Sorry, late to the party but why isn't Leach playing?  I thought he did well in WI.

Edit: I cannot read.  Seems Parkinson is concussion substitute.

He was but injured in the field-concussion and you are allowed a replacement so Parkinson was the sub

How did Parkinson do?

Didn't look threatening.

Typical CBF! Leach plays: why isn't Parkinson playing? Parkinson plays: why isn't Leach playing?

I think he’s simply asking why Leach wasn’t playing originally then saw Parkinson was a sub, that’s all.

You may have the wrong end of the stick

No, was tongue in cheek.

But Leach was playing originally. (Possibly because he did okay in the West Indies.)

Parkinson looked fairly poor. Bowling so slowly that Blundell was happy to basically run at him. Then he bowled a little short and the Kiwis milked him.
Obviously there’s probably debut nerves. But unless you suddenly start playing on Indian type sandpits, I don’t see him being a viable option in England.

Still expecting England to lose this. Bowlers once again getting us back into a position...

Crawley out once again caught in the cordon. He just doesn’t learn.

Awful shot from Pope, his back leg moves so far forward it makes him look really uncomfortable.

I don’t think Pope has enough to bat 3 in temperament or technique.

In some ways it’s not his fault, he is out of position.

Bairstow, as specialist batsman, must have one of the highest % of bowled dismissals
