Fair play to Tongue, very impressive

Prepared to risk boundaries in order to take a wicket.

Anderson and Robinson looking military so far but Broad has bowled well again

i wouldnt drop him, but after so long out injured and no real game time i would have brought him straight back in either.

in an ideal world, i would have him as a batter only and foakes keeping. would mean brook or crawley missing out though

I don't disagree, apart from I think his batting in the 1st test justified his selection as a batter. In an ideal world you would have Foakes in, but I don't think that's Bairstows fault. Surely Stokes and the selectors make that call. Can't say I agree with Brook being anywhere near the conversation of who would miss out tho, Crawley not so much!

Thought Anderson looked absolutely unplayable early doors, ball was doing all sorts. Robinson down on pace again which is a bit concerning, thought he'd worked it out during the winter tours.

brooks only in the discussion as we would need to lose a middle order batter and i cant see root or stokes being dropped anytime soon

Have to admit I didn't watch the very start.

The bit I was watching both bats were walking down the pitch at him which is not good to see

The ball to Khawaja that Root dropped was phenomenal, definitely less effective as the game has gone on though.

Lords test this AM.
Packed house.
I have to say I think the Aussies are playing the pre match stuff better just ignoring the rubbish from the Eng camp.

Starc likely to play in place of Boland.

I can't see Marnus and Smith having another quiet week.

Going to be a good toss to loose today I think as it will be a bowl first morning, whereas it is usually better to bat first...

Absolutely vital for England to have a strong first session. Our record at Lords against the Aussies is really dreadful.

But from some poor decisions Eng would have won that first game. I think we will see some pragmatism start creeping into the Bazball approach.

Honestly, my money is on Aus going 2-0 up.

Still this.

What is going on... Root two. Dreadful shot by Head.

Root is turning it thou and it’s day one. It looks like a typical Lords pitch for the seamers, nothing in it.

Lyon is going to be a handful I think

Lyon in the fourth innings could be a destructive factor at one end for extended periods.
