Dare I say that Brook played the shot of a man who had prepared for this series by sitting on benches in the IPL?

I'd call it more the shot of a man who believes he is not allowed to play a defensive shot.

Bairstow glove work is disappointing.

If you think Bairstow should be keeping in this team you're a moron

So when do the stubborn English selection panel admit Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope aren’t test standard? 30 odd Tests apiece, no improvement at all.

The opposite for Pope his game has hugely improved in the last 12 months and his FC record is a good indicator he can score runs consistently.

Crawley neither has a FC record to back it up or the ability to adapt his game against quality bowling.

A flashy 60 odd once in a while is not going to win any tests for us at all.

The Aussies are a quality side with a balance of defence and attack…

Pope average 20 against Australia and India - your next series is against India. Those are also the two best sides in the world.
Meaningless runs against Ireland’s lollipop bowlers proves very little…

Your right runs against Ireland are not worth much. His overall test record is on the up. He’s is by far the most talented young batsman in the Country, there is no one better outside the test team.

Crawley I think a lot of us on here have given up…he could be in for life

God when it’s going well we call them the best in the world and when it’s nit going so well we are all experts. Personally love watching this England side and this series so far has been superb.

This side is the best side for the way the management and captain want them to play end of.

Looks like we will be 2-0 down in the series but I would still back England to finish the series 2-2 if some weather about over the next few weeks or 3-2 just as much as Australia could win 5-0 either way it’s been a great watch, played in a great way so for me I’m happy the result is second to the experience for me

Well said mate I agree with your sentiments. Back the players we have. There are zero top 3 batsmen hammering the door down in county cricket, these are the best players we have.

The main difference between Crawley and Pope in my view is there are more surrey supporters on this forum than Kent. Both look sublime at times and also get out in village fashion regularly. I wont be placing too much faith in Popes 200 vrs Irelands attack or county record at the Oval. This is another level. Looked like a child today facing Starc but doesnt get the same criticism.

Big plus is Duckett, who after 2 similar dismissals at Birmingham, has looked assured and batted with good tempo at Lords. 2nd bite at the cherry at Test level for him, like Khawaja, and looks like he is making the most of it.

these players may or may not be the best we have but its clear they have some toughening up to do. they look and play 'young' for their experience. they can look great because they have skills but they have let good positions go in both tests due to lack of steel

I'd argue that. Sam Hain has consistantly shown over the last 2 seasons that he's the best batsman not playing for England on the county circuit. Just don't understand why he's not even in the squad.
