Second test starts tomorrow, should be a good one.
Hot sunny weather, Lords, young talented teams. Red ball cricket.

Marvellous.

Rightly or wrongly, think SL worried about Eng being able to chase down scores, eventhough at Old Trafford, it was not the Bazball 1.0 on show in the final innings.

Duckett out doing what he does, Lawrence isn't really an opener, but that Pope wicket was painful...

Pope record against  stronger teams woeful …

How is he in the side and how is he captain..

Scoring 100s againt lesser oppo , we’ll see how he does in ashes ..

Averaging 34 after 48 tests is not good enough. I don't think he's a lost cause as he's still young enough to sort out his head. That dismissal today smacked of somebody who is feeling the pressure.

The breakdown of his technical issues last test was very good, might be time for him to admit something isn't working and make the tweaks.

When you break this down and take away runs Vs starting nations it’s a lot worse

I'm not a big Pope fan, but I don't think he's awful either. His record against Australia and India is very poor, but against New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa it's better. So he can obviously play at international level. Wouldn't be skipper for me though either.
