Lol I'm not sure I'd do the bat any more justice than you will. You have experience whereas I am naive ;)

Money no option.

1, Tim Keeley Pro,
2, Nothing else out there......

Come on Talisman, money no option and you wouldn't go for a classic from John Newbery or pic up an original iconic bat

You couldn't use one so unless we change it to money no object and time travel allowed I'd not worry. Plus despite the fact that John Newbery must be the greatest bat maker ever his bats would not be as good as Tim's today with the improvement in willow conditioning and pressing.

We must go forward!!!

Money no obstacle and money no object very similar?

Plus despite the fact that John Newbery must be the greatest bat maker ever his bats would not be as good as Tim's today with the improvement in willow conditioning and pressing.

We must go forward!!!

.....and I'd still plump for a John Newbery original bat made by the man himself that is a piece of history I'd love to have/own, infact you could probably get me one :D   It is bats I cant get hold of that are more desirable to me.  I could, if I asked nicely, get one from Tim Keeley and buy a screaming cat from Julian Millichamp, I respect & admire those guys immensely, but can you get hold of John Newbery original easily, nope, unless money wasn't an obstacle

You couldn't use one

Not sure what you mean by "couldn't use one", unless you meant my very individual batting style :D

Talisman - I know you've owned tons of bats and value your opinion on them - what other batmakers have you used to compare Mr keeley to? Kranzbuhler? Laver? Millichamp?

My 5, in no particular order would be:

1) Laver Signature
2) Stuart Kranzbuhler custom
3) Julian Millichamp custom
4) Tim Keeley custom
5) Talisman special Laminate

My current Laver is the best bat I've ever owned - the next 3 are just based on reputation from the forums, and the last one is just curiosity.

I'd have to go to his workshop in person to select willow and discuss specs for all of these, so some nice overseas trips involved there!

...based on the fact that I personally think the way forward for custom bats is a personal service I'll probably never own any of the above bats until I can afford to take trips to the various locations.
