I had first heard of them on the Middlepeg website which only had quality gear.
Once again really lovely looking bats. What happened to Middlepeg? Did they go bankrupt? In which case, why is the website still up?

Not sure what happened but clearly they stopped selling online. Those guys really had passion for retailing cricket gear and great customer service. They might have kept the website going for a while as it has some good info but its quite dated by now.

I think I've read on CSF in the distant past that Tendulkar sent an old SS to batmakers to copy as that was the shape he prefered

Thanks CD. Sachin has used many different bat makers over the years and many more claim that. The ones I have seen or heard about from trustworthy sources are BAS, BDM, SS, Newbery and Matrrixx.

From what I have heard talking to one of the batmakers, he is very meticulous about every little detail. There have been gradual changes in his preferred profile over the years (even more recently) and so the templates change but yes in general he sends one bat and he wants an exact copy. Not just the blade but also the handle.

2 more fantastic looking bats, I'm jealous of your collection but don't envy your task of picking that match bat!

I own a Matrrixx bat (custom) and it is the best bat I have ever used. It has 30 mm edges 2'6-2'7 Big bow 14 straight grains 1/3 heart wood. AMAZING.

Ohh okay. Make sense. Thanks for clarifying it, I appreciate it!

I never thought Matrrixx would make good bats. But it proved me wrong1

The first cricket box was used in 1874.  The first cricket helmet was introduced in 1974. So, it took 100 years for men to twig that their brains were also worth protecting.
