Graphite Kahuna
« on: April 18, 2010, 07:40:08 PM »

Could someone please describe one to me as one was used against me today (I think)

Did Kookaburra make any other Kahunas with black stickers on the back to make it look like it was graphite?

Some saffa was using one today, I picked it straight away and knew it was illegal.

Q: is it illegal or allowable like the Carbon GN's and Newberys?

should be legal still, something about it's natural life span (i.e use them untill they break) - essentially, you cant buy them new or use them in certain grades of cricket - village cricket should be fine i think, but im sure Tom, Andy, Mike etc could clarify better than I!!

It can be repaired in any way required, and sold on!!!

Similar to one of my bats that had a bit of damage and was refaced, perfectly legal.

When I meant sold, I meant by retailers, brand new.

What was the no repairs rule for? Or am I dreaming it up?

Carbon handles if they break can't be replaced with Carbon handles. Only a current handle which meets the laws can be used.

Kookaburra did various models of graphite, there was a Diablo graphite, Beast graphite, Kahuna graphite and they also did the Beast and Kahuna lower models with fibreglass reinforced blades. The bottom ranges were just painted/a sticker.

So it's possible that this bat had a sticker on the back?

It sounded like a plank but went well

It could have been a sticker, graphite or fibreglass
