it's more it's sentimental value to those who like to see and own a bit of cricket history than it's value - probably worth very little to be honest.

Right ladies and gents, a little bit of cricket bat history (or Norb porn!)
Some people may not care (tough!). I thought i would put this up for people to see what i think may be amongst the very first bats made with no splice, a real Jon newbery bit of innovation!!!!
I managed to pick this bat up with original leather cover - which is always a nice touch!
The Hi-Tech bat is spliceless and must be at least 15 years old, but possibly up to 33 years old - how do i know this, well it's a mike gatting 5 star - so it must have come out somewhere through his cricketing days!
Anyway - just thought i would post this up here as it's a pretty unique bat and considering all the hype about 'spliceless' bats nowadays, i thought wouldnt it be nice to see one of the originals! The bat, whilst a bit dirty looking, has 10 straight grains and still hits the mallet nicely!
Good work Mr.Newbery - by the way, the shape of the bat is still popular today (you can see mr.newbery has influenced the likes of tim keeley and julian millichamp - and rightly so!)
Enjoy the pics and a little bit of bat history!

I thought the GM Galaxy from 1981 was a spliceless bat.
