No, Duncan Fearnley had them in the 1980s. That was what I was saying. Look for pictures of Graham Gooch.

i think the first company to put velcro on straps was a now defunct company called carta sports

I was told when at Duncan Fernley last month that he was the first ever. They also had a list of firsts up there in the market, lets not forget how big he was back in the day.....

Agreed, it would be awesome if they could bring out a retro range - especially as the main people who would buy the bats are in their 30/40's now so have more disposable income whilst still looking to relive their youthful memories of Ian Terence Botham smashing the ball into the confectionery stand and hooking Lillee with his eyes closed... marvellous
