Stac Cricket

Morning Guys.

Looking at getting a new bat for next season. One of the guys at my club always uses Stac bats, infact he buys a couple each year so gets a good offer direct from the maker, so could get me a good price.

Anyways my question is does anyone have any thoughts about Stac cricket bats? My view on them is naff stickers but great willow.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Our club used to have a huge discount with them and they ate top bat and pads gloves so so

the bigger weights are better in my experience - not massive profiles.

What I have seen from my friends bats are big profiles in lighter weights, which is one of the reasons why I'm so interested in getting one.

does he have a website, the only one i can find on google is Galaxy and that doesn't work

if you do a quick search on "Stac" - there are a few threds on the subject, Talisman rates David Banks pretty well.

A friend of mine's used to use Stac and found them great bats but that they didn't last very long so he went through a few a season. Most of his club used them too as think they had a deal through them and when we played them they all went pretty well.

Banksy is great, but make sure it is made by him as they used to import and buy bats from all over the place, random quality with those bats.

A few years ago I was at Crown Sports in Boldon, they were making some of the Stac bats at the time!

Crown making bats for stac well I'm not sure about that, been up to crown myself and seen no evidence of bats being made there.

I had a minor sponsorship with them a few years ago and always found them of very good quality. like was previously said, they do not have large profiles but i have has a SH 2lb 5oz & a 2lb 8oz and both have gone well.

As i say Rich, was 3 summers ago.

Interesting point re. your visit though, i'm taking it that the making of Crown bats has left these shores? Some of the ones i've seen recently don't seem to be English made?

I'm not sure they were ever made in Boldon but i do know another bat maker from the UK that did make bats for them a while back. Ive not been to see them for a couple of years now bud so perhaps its all change and the bats are now being made in the North East but i doubt it.

Kenny the bloke who uses them at your place is the biggest slogger known the man!!! He play's across the line to balls yorker length haha!!!

But when he hit's it it goes miles so for this reason the willow must be good considering he is about 85years old(well looks it) and I have also heard he is a millionaire.............
