NATIONWIDE BAT REPAIR SERVICE
« on: August 27, 2010, 12:55:08 PM »

Hi Forum Folk,

I'm launching a new bat repair service for all cricketers on the internet on the 1st September.

Drop me a line with any queries, happy to give advice here on what repair cost could be.

Also, if you have a bat that you don't use anymore, want cash to put to a new one or have a broken one that you want to sell give me a shout.

I'll post the weblink when it's ready.

Looks like his website is live: www.batrepairs.com

£35 for a repair before the additional delivery charges, looking at £42 for a repair!

Acutally, its nearer £50.

£7.50 to get the bat to them
£35 for the repair
£7.50 to get the bat back

Total: £50

Well considering they have been active on the forum each day including yesterday I'd say this was just a glue it in the garage operation, no reply to my question and more expensive than anywhere else I've seen.

I charge £25 inc return postage for anything that can be fixed and I'm not the cheapest on here.

apologies i haven't been back to you on this post, but have been on the forum on other threads.

talisman, i've answered your question on background on another thread, and to be fair to my repairers they certainly aren't garage and glue operations...maybe others you know are?

£35 is a great price if you need a new handle, split toe repair and refurb all in one go.

also, i have no interest in being the cheapest repair service, if others want to keep doing repairs cheap crack on, personally i think that if you want quality you pay for it and lets face it buying cheap often results in buying twice...

batrepairs.com has a plan and a strategy, an openly available website which I haven't seen from anyone else on the site, a facebook page which will post pictures of all repaired bats, with nearly 100 cricket playing fans as friends already.

quality bat repairs require good bat makers to dedicate their time to doing them, and i identified in my research is that many repairers are not charging enough and need to charge more.

i'll be introducing a menu based price list very soon too, but my top price will always be £35, which i don't think anyone else on here will be able to match for multiple single bat repairs.

if you want to be the cheapest great, but how can you promise a great service and quality repair when you're making nothing from it, unless you're in it for the love?

charge a fair price for a fair service, £35 is cheaper than a new bat, especially when it's one that you love, and postage & couriers costs are what they are.

i've spoken with a few of you, and we've had good conversations and i've bought bats from members too so who knows maybe some positive feedback soon???

if you want to call me go to the website and you'll find the mobile number.

I'll ask as it is an important question today, do you have any nice stickers to put on them after the repair and refurb?

hi norbs,

depends on the brand of bat and if i can get stickers.

i'm currently producing new stickers for all bats that i buy, refurbish and re-sell which will be an "own brand" label which should be available soon.

regards replacing all brand stickers like for like at this stage no, but i'm negotiating with  manufacturers to try and deal with this, should have it cracked soon.
