yes woodworm bats now made in india, and probably some in pakistan as the business that owns woodworm also owns the CA brand.

for information, GM had the exclusive rights to the D30 technology but only for one year, it had been offered previously to Newbery and other manufacturers too...

Tell KP we have 2 good local pubs and a bat maker with a catchy name for an ex saffer in our village

I always imagined d30 pads gloves etc would have been less bulky not the best use for it in cricket I reckon but I spoke to them and got a no for supply

yeh that was my theory..if using d3o you should be able to scale back on the other foam materials being used if its that good a product meaning less cumbersome pads/gloves etc....think the bloke was called Rich who was at d3o when we met them who thought alot of his product and himself

And Freddie is missed, so would be nice if he were to come back from injury now!
This season it's good that he didn't play for two reasons! The first being that hopefully he had things done to ensure his (HOPEFUL) future fitness. And secondly so that a certain collector of bats could get hold of one! 
But fingers crossed that the man gets playing again very soon!

CA are owned by CA, Woodworm are owned by Sports HQ which has the agency for CA in the UK, although that might be changing as Sports HQ is a bargain basement outfit and although the kit they have made by Sondhi in India is good quality they are not really doing CA any favours being linked. The CA bats are very good quality and the only problem is the massive quantity of fakes being floated about.

Sondhi are in India CA are from Pakistan?

Not to hijack the topic but just wondering if any one knows, after seeing a video about the sondhi factory in regards to the improved working conditions, testing and quality control they have put in place.  Does this reflect massively in the prices they charge to a manufacturer compared to other companies in India?

Talisman will know more than most on that question jdask - but the answer is yes those bats are more expensive, but then it is easy to argue that it is money well spent!!

Yer that what i was wondering.  If the bigger manufactures see this good practice as worth the extra costs and if many of them get products from there or design products through them etc?  Or wether they would keep costs down and use other companies, where perhaps there isn't that element of quality control.

Although Sondhi have a very impressive factory they also subcontract out, so although you may think you're getting everything made in a brand new brilliant factory the reality could be a lot different.

It was subcontracting that caught Primark 'using' sweatshops

They mainly do that with the balls Tom, not a lot else would go out apart from Kashmir bats.

I would say that their prices are certainly no more than anyone else, an overseas order makes serious money so it is refreshing to see that they do not work to the same level as the other manufacturers.
