Cheap and Nasty or Top of the range?
« on: September 27, 2010, 09:00:56 PM »

Just having a quick thought on a boring Monday night, before Inbetweeners of course!

but many of the features i look for in a pair of batting gloves are more associated with the bottom end gloves instead of the top of the range ones

the low range gloves are generally lightweight and flexible where as the focus of the top of the range ones are more focussed on protection possibly at the slight expense of comfort.

Any thoughts?

puma 5000's, light and protective. Also incredibly comfortable.

the top of the range kooks are a bit weighty.

You can get top of the range gloves that are light comfy and protective.

I love that song :)

I'd want the best comfort and suitable protection for my budget, which is around £25

I'd want good protection over comfort tbh, but both is obviously nice, does anyone know if these are any good, and genuine? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Newbery-SPS2-Camo-Cricket-Gloves-/330476683562

Newbery are the seller so you'd hope they'd be genuine.

Yeah, flogging off excess stock to make way for next season stuff I'd guess. Bargins to be had if you're not too fussy.

im not overly worried about 'test match protection' since im not a test match player and i dont face test match bowlers very often. Currently own gm original le's and sometimes wonder what the point is! Next gloves will be low range me thinks!

All I would say is that I broke fingers fairly regularly when I was a youngster, and haven't got even close to breaking one since I have been back in the game, so modern, protective gloves for me every day of the week.

I have modern well padded gloves, but they are also very comfortable,

Past two sets of gloves have been,
Redback & M&H Both very comfy and great protection.

i have used the SG hilites for the last 5 years and they have been very comfy as well as lightweight and flexible. also i think they offer test level protection (although that is not something that i look for. at my level, more interested in the palm and flexibility)
