That was my arguement for Morgan starting. But this is a whole other conversation as we know.

Rob Key was right in saying that if this wasn't the Ashes, he would be on the scrap heap by now

I'm all for Hussey being included. Easy target if you ask me. Can't see the Aussie spirit of old where they dig in and grind it out. I think the technical term is 'f*ucked'

Cor - anybody else pull an all nighter?  Knackered now, and work is gonna be a bit tricky today, but was a fascinating day's cricket.  Trott looked in great touch, but was very late on a pull shot - was a massive no ball though that the umpire missed.  Cook struggled a little early doors but was looking in fine fettle by the time he tried to dance down the wicket at O'Keefe.  KP was the one enormous letdown of the day, failing to deal with a slow left arm bowler once again.

Terrific partnership from Bell and Colly through the afternoon though.  Bell in particular looked in brilliant form.  He would appear to have made absolutely sure that there's no chance of Steve Smith playing in the Test series.  This could be a massive series form him.

I only made it to 4am then had to retire knackered. Pleased for Belly though, looks a different class from 2005. Hope he keeps it together. Him and Colly need to perform in this series. Morgan is knocking on their doors. Then again, KP's is getting a bit of a hammering

Big series for Bell in terms of what? He was found out by the Australian dream team and he couldn't find an answer as to how to deal with them? Now he's trying to bash a mediocre Australian side? Bell is an average player at best.

A lot of players were found out by McGrath and Warne.  There is no shame in that.  Bell is a very different player from the one that played the 2005 series.  Don't forget that he scored 4 50s in the 2006/7 series.  He just needs to kick on and turn those starts into hundreds, a feat which he is entirely capable of.

I think he will be the leading scorer on either side in the upcoming series.
