Great result & hardly the drama I expected.

Its nice to watch an England team (in any sport) that pushes home their advantage & wins!!

That was a hammering all the pressure on the Aussies they have to win 2 out of 3 to get the urn back but not much pointing could have done as skipper as England were just better in all departments

As well as the English played... Aus really played poorly!

As far as the series goes really important win, I doubt Aus will win 2 matches and ensure a draw in the other to regain the urn - I'll be surprised if they take 20 wickets at this rate!

all over. by an innings, sends out a message to the other test teams, genuinely believe england have the best test side currently. pleased for swann, he needed that, although he loves a lefty!

We will find out about India in the Summer, but SA are not streets ahead - we drew with them in their back yard and our bowling attack is better now than it was then.

Personally I think India are best but not by much and Eng and SA are on a par next.

Buzz - South Africa won the series in England...

With regards to bowling, Steyn and Morkel are the best combo round

I agree - but Swann is now the best spinner around and Broad, Finn are both young and improving and Anderson is now at his peak. I am not saying that they are better than Morkel and Steyn, but our bowling unit is all round on a par with the Saffers. Kallis as the alrounder is still something we can't match - but he is extraodinary.

It will be very interesting to see the Indian batsman against our bowlers in England - I expect the Indian batsmen to come out on top - but it will be a good battle. As will the battle with your bowlers againt our batsman.

Comprehensive win by England!!!! The England that will play India in the summer will be a very different outfit to what India are used to!!! proberbly boyd by an away Ashes series victory and India do historically struggle away from the sub-continent!!!!

Sometimes I think you just big up india for the sake of them being india! They are a bunch of has-beens. The pool of talent is drying up. I see the likes of dravid, tendulkar, laxman etc leaving in the near future and I dont see ONE player that could replace either one of them. The next australia me thinks. Then I look at england and see a team and can stick around for another 5 years, with the exception of colly, who will be replaced by other excellent talents like morgan or denly etc. And this opens up the problem of an excellent youth setup here and a lack of in india.

Pujara, Kohli, Rahane etc. These guys are champing at the bit. Don't worry about India, a country with 1 billion people has endless talent.

We'll just have to wait and see. At the present time I don't see India beating England. Lot of Indian players are over the hill anyway, two years time as Umz says, they will be the next Aussies because they havent given the younger players a chance often enough for them to experience test cricket. I feel in English conditions the India top order will struggle, especially if it's the younger less experienced ones such as Raina and Kholi
