Can't get caught on the ground.

Says the person who was caught more than 50% last season, fact.

got a let off, caught behind off a no ball, batted positively and pretty well to be honest but i am yet to be convinced by him as he has never made the hard runs to dig us out of holes, something many people said about ian bell a year or two ago, would like to see prior make runs in tricky situations, not just coming in at 300-5 and having a bash

Prior is up there with the best keeper/batsman in the world agree with your point to a degree but he is a fine cricketer and much improved keeper he is impressing me

certainly improving - has become very good with gloves, averaging 40 with the bat is a bit flattering for him tho as hes never made those tough gritty runs we sometimes need

Didn't he make gritty runs in this innings?? Looked dreadfully out of touch early and got away with a few loose strokes but is still there on 75no looking at a ton.

these are important runs yes. but coming in at 286-5 as he did in this innings considering we were 188 runs ahead anyway at the time there wasnt as much pressure as going in at 60-5 as he has in the past when weve needed innings like this, when he starts becoming reliable in times of need, then we can call him a top class keeper/batsman. with the top order firing as they are now it doesnt get shown up as much but when we really need him (60-5 scenario) that is the true test and we havent seen him make runs in those situations where we are really under the pump.

massive similarity to ian bell 2 years ago - i feel prior could learn a lot from him.

To be fair Prior could get in the side with just his batting in my opinion but can anybody name a better batsman keeper his only real rival is Dhoni because Haddin simply is not that good a keeper

If Boucher batted like MSD or Prior, he would be the dream wk/batsman!
