I wonder if any pros are as fanatical about their bats as we are about ours...

Ponting doesn't let anyone touch his bats, if anyone touches it before he uses it he will not use it until he has practiced with it first...Hussey just has loads of slightly different bats that he chooses from

I read somewhere that Gayle has a 2 inch longer blade or something like that. Must be a tank of a bat that he uses... Also at what height is it considered that you should have a long blade bat or Long Handle? I'm fairly tall myself and have never really had a problem with a normal size blade...

Also read somewhere that Ponting has the top end of the handle on his bats cut off. Any specific reason for this, such as balancing the bat better or just superstition?

I have seen alot of people on here wanting to get hold of "pro's bats" but I was wondering something different.

Does anybody know exactly what certain pro's go for? I'm probably looking more at the bat makers here for answers but if other forum members know for certain then please share.

For Example :- Weight, amount of grains, handle type, how many grips etc...

I'm going to re - open this topic again seeing as there are a lot more companys on the forum now ans they may give some info...

Brad haddin also cuts the tops of his handles off...saw it in an interview once, can't recall 100% why but I think it made them pickup better or something like that

The knob can really feel like it gets in the way if you grip the bat near the shoulders.

The 3 we have previously supplied to James Taylor came about by him seeing a few pics on Facebook so he asked if we could sort a couple for him, obviously he was then sponsored by Adidas but used them in the one day and T20 formats I think.

I'd like to think the bats we stock from the bat maker are good enough to hold their own on the pro circuit without being cherry picked from a mass number. The current two Yorkshire lads really like the ones they have now and haven't heard any negative feedback from them as yet :)
