Queensland had a few during the 90's and early 2000's - as mentioned Stuart Law, but also Martin Love.  Love made over 10000 Shield runs for Queensland.

Surely Ramps must cosider himself unlucky. If The England selectors would have given him a few more tests then he may have had the opportunity to show his country the batsman he is come to be today.
I know he has snubbed England over the last few years but can you blame him?
Before Trotty showed up, the number 3 position was very much up for grabs.
Ramprakash was scoring hundreds for fun at Englands best ground for results so why wasn't he picked to at least bat at the Oval?

I don't think you can call a guy who played 52 Tests and only averaged 27 unlucky.  If anything you would have to say he was pretty lucky to play as much as he did.

I agree to a certain extent that he was given a chance in the early days but was surely overlooked in the twilight ( peak ) of his career.

Simon Jones. Would have been such a good player if not for all those injuries.

1.Simon Jones-Injuries etc.
2.Brad Hodge- As explained in original post
3.Stuart Magill- Shane Warne
4.Jeetan Patel- Playing in same era as Daniel Vettori
5.Matthew Bulbeck- Guy who used to coach a bit at our club, had a great start to his first class career at Somerset when he was 19. Badly injured his shoulder and was forced to retire- http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/content/player/9290.html

Agree with 3 of them, cannot comment on your former coach, but Jeetan Patel cannot hold a candle to Dan the man! He averages 40+ with the ball in domestic cricket, and he doesn't have the canniness that Vettori does!

I feel sorry for Samit Patel, he's definitely a great cricketer, shame about his physique.

Definitely feel sorry for Simon Jones, injury after injury after injury...

How on earth can you feel sorry for Samit Patel? He's been given chance after chance by England to lose weight and get back in the side but he has clearly made no effort in the slightest to comply with England's request. An absolute idiot if you ask me! With his talent he should be in the team but is far too lazy.

Why should weight matter though? If your a quality cricketer then you are surely coping with that? Look at Inzy did he ever get much stick for being crap?

depends what makes them unlucky. is it having an injury or just not been given the chance to represent their country ?
