Ah fair enough, Boundary sports hasn't got the best selection in there. You could email them to see if they could get some stock in for you to try out. They seem like nice guys in there and are usually fast with their responses.

Ah right, last time I was in there which was at the start of the month he said that they were expecting all of their stock in by mid-feb. Obviously not...

Well Hawk do their own pads which look pretty good and they're not far from Birmingham (near stourbridge) http://www.hawkcricket.com/Details.cfm?ProdID=157&category=9. So if you're willing to travel to them you could try them on...

(bit off topic) Did he say when they will have the grey nics stuff in? As I would like to look at their new bags...

I think he said by the end of this week, and thanks, i'll have a look. I'm tempted to go to uzisports as it's not far according to google maps!

Okay cheers.

I'm not sure why they are the same, I could be wrong - but I guess they could use the same supplier and get them shipped over.

I did have some Hawk (batting) pads and they were very good quality, but unfortunately I had to take them back as I couldn't get the right amount of money for some Puma pads I bought and as they had been used I couldn't send them back. So I exchanged them for some thigh guards and a few extras and all of their softs are of a very good standard.

There was someone from the Birmingham area who was planning on going down to Uzisports from this forum somewhere, so you could work out a lift with them.

the 5000's are quality pads but I don't think you would be able to wear them low, I had to wear mine behind the tongue of my shoe, it all depends where you find them comfortable. looks wise, i think they're top 2 and on par with the Kookaburra Kahuna ones. (the traditional looking ones) but that's in my opinion. Protection is quality on the 5000's yet to take a blow in the kookaburras.

like people have said, if you have chance to get to a retailer, do it. and the puma 4000 look pretty much exactly the same as the 5000's. its all a case of ow comfortable you feel, dont base keeping pads on looks in my opinion :)

hope this helps

i know you said you wanted new, but the offer of a set of ballistic 5000 fxt pads going cheap from me is here if need be :D

as well as a couple of sets of bn keeping gloves (ss and another) ;)

They are comfy, but i'd prefer wearing pads low so they dont suit me and the unbouncy briz pitches!
