SS Gladiator - Thanks Asad
« on: February 28, 2011, 06:58:37 AM »

After my GN pretty much died on me after 2 solid seasons of use, I decided to purchase a new bat. Having a look on the forum I came across Asad and Uzi sports. I did think about having a bat made, but I needed one right away and I wasn’t sure how long it would take to make the bat, then ship it.

After reading all the reviews about Asad’s products and service, I decided that I would purchase a bat off of him. I had a look through his bats on his website as well as on the forum, and I sent him an email about a couple that I liked and that he should feel free to mention any others. He got back to me quickly and said that the SS Gladiator I had mentioned as one of my favourites was the best choice. Not long after this, I decided that the Gladiator was the way to go.

Once I had purchased the bat, I was very eager to receive it, but when Asad said;

“I picked up ur bat yesterday while packaging, my God u have picked up a beauty. I am 110 % sure that u will like it.”

It made the wait even worse.  I’m sure that any other cricket bat nut out there would know that this just makes the wait seem like it’s never ending.

I received the bat today (2 weeks after ordering ) and I must say, Asad did not over exaggerate at all, the bat is an absolute beauty.

Weighs in at 2lb5.6oz
8 nice clean grains
Edges are 35mm at their biggest
Most importantly, it rockets off with the mallet, although I know this isn’t a true test of the bat’s quality. I can’t wait to use it once I finish knocking it in as I am sure it will be an absolute gun.

This is also my first review, so a pretty good way to start off.

Thanks again Asad, your products and service are second to none.

Pictures (taken on my HTC so not the best quality, sorry)

Looks great stick mate!

I would say it is a blessing in disguise as it will give you more time to prepare it or else due to excitement you wouldn't have knocked it properly and might damage it..

Similar to other bats I have tried , but maybe a little bit harder.

I still have a few games plus finals, but I am also playing winter cricket so I will get to use it.

It's funny over here, in winter it barely rains, but in summer, we got monsoon like rains, ahah. Complete oposite to what you think would happen. But living in Qld the rain is worse as it doesnt make it cool, because of the humidity it just makes the air more dense and sticky and you sweat way more. Very deceiving.
