Got these through the post from Choppy last week - posted quickly and well packaged.
On to the shoe........
It's hard to review the shoe fully without using it in a match and having spent only a couple of hours wearing them in. However, i will make a few comments regarding the quality and build of the shoe.
I will start with a negative aspect - i think the insole is rubbish and could wear away very quickly. I have taken photos of them and as you can see - it's full of holes. In my mind, once you start wearing away the insole it wont last long and as a fast (ish) bowler, i know that i wear away the insoles rather quickly. On another note - spare asics insoles simply do not exist!
Positive aspects - Lightweight shoe, ideal for long days in the field. Despite the weird insole, it does feel well cushioned and comfortable around the heel (hopefully it wont rub like the advance 2's).
Design is rather cutting edge, might not be everybodys cup of tea but if you cant make a statement through your ability, make a statement with your shoes!
The P-Guard on the front of the shoe seems rather robust - i like this as i know that my front foot has worn away areas in some of my older shoes.
Anyway - not much more to say. I will endeavour to a follow-up review once the season comes around. If anything, it might give a few pictures of the shoe from different angles!

I love these spikes.....
I think i'l be getting a pair before the season
-
Is the P guard for when you need the toilet during a match and you get splashback on your shoes?
-
How much were those puppies? My Aussies from last yr gave me massive blisters so have only worn the 3/4 times :( stuck with my 150's or whatever they are
-
Dont give choppy the credit ! you got them from me ! :O
-
Does everyone with advance 2s get blisters? i did too!
-
yeh i wore them to golf to break them in and ended up taking them off and swappin to my trainers by the 10th as was in agony!
purchased a pair of the above now as cant see myself wearing the aussie advances if they hurt like buggery
-
What I found shocking is that I wear Asics for running, yet the Advance 2's were really not worthy of the Asics label. Surely after even an hours testing they would have noticed blisters appearing on their feet!
Some fecker stole mine during teas one game. Almost Karma I know they will have badly blistered feet!
-
I am now the proud owner of a pair of these...
cant wait to get home and try them on

Wont miss you in the field then Mike, I think their a bit bright for my eyes

I tried these on the other day at Owzat. I already bought a pair of the Puma Tricks however I took them with me (as I got them online from owzat) just incase I decided to change them for the Asics.
They are lighter than the Puma Tricks, however when I tried them on they didn't feel as comfortable. I think these Asics would be better for batting in than the Pumas as there isn't as much padding on the sole of the shoe, so you would be closer to the ground and also they are lighter so you would be able to manouver better around the crease.
However for overall use I would say the Puma Tricks are better as they offer more comfort, both on the bottom on the shoe but also around the whole shoe. I feel as though they would be better if you're using your spikes for bowling, fielding and batting rather than changing them to bat in etc. Also they offer better protection around the whole shoe which comes important when batting incase you nick one onto your foot.

Ha it might leave you open for some homosexual comments from the opposition, Just rise above it Mike ;)

Does everyone with advance 2s get blisters? i did too!
I suspect so... I'd love to know who at Asics approved the addition of a suede section on the inside of the heel. You dont notice it trying them on in a shop but after a few hours of cricket everyone is in agony.

just need my blonde highlights back now lol

I bought the Gel Strike rate boots last year. Definitely worthy of an Asics badge. Very comfortable, no blisters.
-
it was a tough choice between these and the new strike rates as i think they too look very nice
im just hoping i dont get blisters now

Is it possible to get Puma Tricks with removable spikes ? (We dont use grass pitches in denmark, only when playing national)
-
Never seen spiked boots that aren't removable so I presume so.
-
Well you can remove the spikes, however I've only seen them available to buy in half spikes. You could ask/buy an extra set of plastic studs so that you can wear these on astro. Which is what I've done for some adidas spikes I have because every so often I play on astro pitches and it's a pain in the ass turning up and having to change your spikes.

Got sum new Advance 3's today, much more padding at the back than the previous Aussie version iv got so should mean they don't cause me immense pain when wearing them.....which will be nice!

Some Onitsuka Tigers also have suede on the inside heel, couldn't imagine wearing them all day!
-
Wore them in the match today - have to say, a very comfy shoe! Felt like i had been wearing them for a long time and no signs of rubbing. Only thing i've noticed is that they are slightly heavier, or they feel like that anyway, than the advance 2's that i have. Generally very pleased though.....lets hope they serve me well this season!
-
It seems like I'm the only one getting blisters from these shoes, it's only on the right heel....
Any suggestions?
Compeeds getting expensive

Man up Canners! What socks do you wear? I wear the '1000 miles' socks and they make all shoes feel like slippers 8)

I bought a pair of those once and they gave me worse blisters, and in 5 miles! >:(
-
Canners fella - it's that extra toe on your right foot that's causing the blisters!
;)
-
Wore my advance 2s with cricket socks to fiekd yesterday without any blisters must just be lucky
-
Haha
I'l have to give these slipper socks a go I think...
If not i'l be getting some trainers spiked up
Pete 6 toes are normal darn sarrrth
-
been wearing Horizon wool socks for the last season or so and cant fault them really. £7 a pair is a lot but they don't wear out quickly at all so will last a fair while as these: https://romida.co.uk/clothing/horizon-cream-county-socks-cat-no-024036.html
-
1000 Mile, absolutely no contest for the best socks about.
Switched back to Advance 2's but have some RBK spikes coming at 167g each shoe, not weighed my others but this has to be very light?
-
Mike have you got any for sale? The socks that is?
-
I'm going to be speaking to them this week for trade prices, so hang on and I may be able to sort before Friday.
-
Thanks
-
ive changed to the thinner Nike cricket socks which are working good, still have the horizon and 1000 mile but find them a bit thick for my feet, avoid puma though.
-
Tried these shoes with the 1000 miles socks yesterday and they felt awesome..... No blisters or anything!!!
I never thought I'd get so excited about a pair of socks, but these are some special socks
