The purple pads and thigh guard set suggest not, but the absence of stickers from his bats, plain chevrons instead of Adidas grips and non-Adidas gloves suggest so...
What do you think?

Or he is waiting on his purple Adidas gloves and the correct stickers to be applied to his bats. Adidas are funny about handing stickers out.
-
The money's still there so he'll most likely still be with adidas. Hawk sticks but bound to just be waiting for stickers.
-
2 years ago (almost to the day) he signed as the 'lead Adidas athlete' in cricket for 'a few more years'
Quoted text are his words taken from social media.
Feasible to think his contract may have ended, but I would be very surprised if there was another brand willing to pay him what he thinks he still worth. Equally I'm sure he loves all the perks of being with adidas; free stuff like shoes clothes etc, but also the relationship with taylormade golf as well as parties/events with other adidas players like Beckham etc.
-
I couldn't care less what he uses
-

I've heard he uses Twitter.
-
Isn't that just one of the bats he picked up from Hawk?
No-one cares what you net with, as long as you aren't filmed doing so, as long as he is there with all the Adidas kit when the cameras get rolling!

Good thing there were no cameras present to see he was using a blank bat and gloves, which would have started a conversation. Oh, wait...

Bats made at Belbroughton waiting for Adidas kit and sticker delivery ?
-
From what Mike has said in passing conversation I believe the stickers actually get sent to hawk directly and are usually applied before they leave so it's possible he's left adidas unless the stickers were delayed to the point where he couldn't wait for the bats any longer.
-
white grips on the bats is just as interesting imo

Are those Hell 4 Leather gloves he's netting in??
-
This use of blank kit reminds me of when Prior stopped using Slazenger and used blank kit ( SS with the branding covered) before using Spartan...
Maybe he is between sponsors?

We were in negotiations but the pie and a pint didn't quite match the Adidas offer. ;)

Couldn't you have gone to a pint and a half? Where's your aspirations? :D
-
The amount of off field kit he asked for was quite staggering!
-
No Adidas stickers and blank gloves for KP during the warm-up. Surely Adidas wouldn't let him go out on a huge global stage like this without their branding? All but officially confirmed for me now.
Also wonder how much interest Adidas now have in cricket since the Manchester United deal We know they wont be sponsoring England
-
Seems to be quite keen to get exposure on the County scene...
Sponsoring the Curran brothers at Surrey, Chesney Hughes, Alex Wakeley to name a few.

You'd have thought KP would gain more exposure than all them put together! No one watches county cricket !

Alex Wakely's with Newbery this season.
-
Alex Wakely's with Newbery this season.
And to further counter my own point Jason Roy moved back to Slazenger so perhaps they don't care about Cricket so much...
But bringing out shoes like the SL22 boost makes it seem like they do... Hmmmm :o
-
No one watches county cricket !
Yet everyone knows who should be in the England team.
-
Footwear will always be their lead product in the cricket market

Marketing is a funny game, I think. But how many kids want to 'be like KP' now? Probably not the amount to justify Adidas paying the huge amount he'd have asked for.
-
Maybe going the same way as Asics & Nike? Money in the shoes as they control the manufacturing process but no money in stickering Bats and softs?
-
It seems that 3/4 of all players currently wear adidas shoes so maybe they think that's enough exposure as they need
-

It won't sell them many cricket bats!
-
Very few shops I have been in actually sell adidas bats anyway
The biggest selection of them I've seen is EBay!
-
No stickers on his match bat right now. I'm sure a big indian company would sign him up in no time
-
2016 Adidas Stickers are very minimalistic! I guess this confirms it.
Was never much of a fan of the Libro or Pellara stickers anyway so I won't miss them.
-
I know this would never happen but I would love to see him with Woodworm again
-
Call me old-fashioned, but couldn't he just give the small family-run business that actually made his bat, a bit of free advertising?
-

at least until he picks up a major sponsor.
-

To be fair none of the pros do that. I'm KP's Least biggest fan, and so glad England dumped him however badly it was done. but it's a business for them and no sponsor almost always means no free advertising, so KP or anyone else you just don't see it.
If you remember when Michael Clarke was between slaz and Spartan his bat was blank and hit hit a purple patch of tons.
Yes I would of loved him to say I'm between sponsors so I'm Using a laver/screaming cat/whatever but he didn't....
Chris read using choice willow)I think for a season would be close but I'm pretty sure they are personal friends. Pretty sure it was choice willow could be wrong thou.
-
Kp says "I'll advertise hawk, just till I get a free sponsor"
The world says "kp is sponsored by hawk" "kp has a new sponsor" "hawk got a good deal there"
No offers drop in him as everyone thinks he's just signed a new deal.
Go out to bat without stickers, and that way everyone know he's not sponsored.
-
I would love to see him go with Trident. That would be world class trolling.
Spartan seems the most likely fit though. Maybe NB, but unlikely.
-
If he's only going to play the Big Bash many, many months from now....would sponsors really be rushing to throw money at him?
-
Go out to bat without stickers, and that way everyone know he's not sponsored.
No (No Swearing Please)!
What about people just stop being such greedy c***s?
-
I have a feeling he'll use an Indian brand before the end of the IPL, most likely SS (or at least a blank with TON stamps on before the end of the tournament).
As KP is a globetrotting T20 maverick he'll get a proper sponsor before long.
I'm guessing it will be Spartan, but I can also see New Balance or Puma trying to sign him.
-
No (No Swearing Please)!

Cricketers have a limited shelf life, so it makes sense they try to cash in for as much as possible while they can.
"Greedy c***s" or not, they need to put food on the table for their families, if you were in his position I bet you'd do the same...

I've worked it out!
You don't need to provide your own grub, as all the while we respond to your one liners we're feeding the troll...
-
If Kevin "Only He Can Save Us" Pietersen doesn't sign a lucrative sponsorship deal with a multi-national corporation masquerading as his bat manufacturer, then his family won't be able to afford to eat? Is that what you are saying?
-
No (No Swearing Please)!
What about people just stop being such greedy c***s?
so having a job, trying to get a raise, or get a promotion is greed? should all cricketers turn down sponsors after they reach a certain income level?
-
so having a job, trying to get a raise, or get a promotion is greed?
Not at all. I just suggested that someone, who doesn't particularly need any more money, might actually consider having his cricket bat manufacturer's name on his cricket bat. This site was set up to champion the cause of these underdogs, so this perhaps shouldn't be seen as such a radical idea?

So you know the ins and outs of Kevin Pietersen's finances too?
Is there anything you aren't an expert on?
-

I think I know he will be able to put food on the table for the rest of his life. But you'd hardly need to be an expert to work that out.
What else have I claimed to be an expert on?
-
Well he owns a popular bar in dubai and an academy right? That will be enough surely but for as long as he's playing hed be stupid not to accept any sponsor as its just extra cash
-
Another thread gone downhill.
-
You've turned up, you mean?
-
And, oh look, they're liking each other and everything!
-
Is this still CBF or has it merged with loose women? Petty and increasingly dull - on a Saturday night!
Enjoyed listening to KP earlier briefly when he was on the mic. Hope he gets some big runs, great to watch

Women, loose or otherwise, is something most of this forum knows nothing about ;)

Was he looking a little gaunt?

He looked full of vigour @Bats_Entertainment
@WalkingWicket37 Less time spent on CBF = more time to learn about the female species. Just a thought!

Kp Mrs was liberty x, I'm sure they can live off the royalties of 'Just a little' 😉
-
This thread was purely about KP and his lack of Adidas stickers or branded gloves...
Who cares about him being able to provide for his family we care about the cricket and his gear, not the other irrelevant stuff and quite frankly petulant bickering that we've seen of late...
I've be on here since 2010 and in the last year the forum has changed and not for the better...

Totally agree, there are some total muppets on here at the moment and this kind of BS that's taken up 2 pages of a thread is further evidence.

Hmmm not sure about that Liberty x were just an inferior version of All Saints surely?
Check the stats(hits) ! :)
Leave out the murdered version of under the bridge thou(red hot chilli peppers)..... That was an off day in the studio of epic proportions

It used to be about love of and support fo cricket brands like Hawk. Not which multi-national can pay Kevin Pieterson the most money to falsely advertise 'their' product.
-
Big sponsors in the running would be Spartan,SS,NB, possibly slazenger and outside chance of woodworm. MRF have signed AB would they possibly consider snapping up KP as well? Maybe do a poll and we will see which forum members know there stuff and who should go back to reading the Mrs magazines.

It shouldn't be. But how could you enforce a law aimed at stopping it?

What about introducing spelling tests for sexists?

Fact is he's putting himself in the shop window, having met him in the week before he resigned with adidas 2/3 years ago what he got was significant in terms of sponsorship plus additional off field kick backs.
As @Bats_Entertainment says it would have been novel of him to promote the actual brand he got his bats from but then if you consider that repercussions of this of the potential audience all wanting to buy said bats it could cause a massive back log or supply and demand issues for he brand in question....not that I'm saying having a healthy backlog of 1000 orders is a bad thing but the upscale in production could cause stress in terms of willow sourcing, manufacturing etc as a knock on effect from a small "cottage industry" type of set up.
The on field side of the kit in prob a minor consideration for him now id imagine compared to the upside of off field benefits of signing with a big sports brand name.

not sure how, but when you see a Sony TV that looks amazing, then find out its a cheap Japan model, but performs better. and you buy a sony TV.....
Not to sure what I am saying...it shouldn't happen

Newsflash professional sportsmen use equipment of which they feel they can best perform the job they are paid to do.
Do you think the ECB care if stokes wears adidas boosts with new balance branding when he is being paid to do a job for his country?
Do you really think you can go out and buy the exact same product?
Mcilroys clubs, Messi's boots, Roots bats the list could go on they are customised to suit them in order to perform. Brands exploit the exposure said individuals have to further market the brand. Hardly illegal this forum gets ridiculous by the day

With the amount of golf he plays you'd think Nike could be an option
Id love if it was woodworm though
-
@Outlaw If Messi is wearing Nike boots I guarantee their not Addidas with Nike logo. Their customised by Nike for Messi.

No, I think people ought know that they are buying the same brand of cricket bat.
And if you buy top of the range Adidas shoes they will be pretty much the same as what the pros use.

Messi is actually Adidas, but your heart's in the right place!

Yet what defines an adidas boot? You could have the exact same product one made in adidas factory and one hand sewn by Christian Louboutin with an adidas logo added, what defines it as an adidas product other than the logo? At the end of the day kids want to look like their idols they aren't going to care if their Adidas stickered bat is made by SS on a machine or handmade by Hawk. This forum accounts for a niche in the market where people have a extended interest in more than just the stickers the majority of the target market wouldn't even give it a thought.

That is a much better point! And sort of agree. but @Bats_Entertainment has a better point.

There should be greater accountability. We have the right to know where stuff we buy is made. And if the stars are pretending to be using something similar, when really they are not, then we have the right to know that too.

In other news, Kevin Pietersen is moving away from Adidas. Guess this thread is dead.
