Haha I'll be seeing our skipper tonight at training. I'll have a word with him and see where we both stand.

Thank though.

In a team that's getting nearly 200 every game averaging 19 isn't great.

Cheers, nothing dramatic. He's quite understanding so we'll see how it goes. This rain might call training off though :/

I'm sure I'm not the only one with issues though.

Rain forecast for the weekend too so things not great atm

After starting the season with 59* i have scored 37 runs in my next 6 innings, hoping for a decent score at some stage over the weekend just to get going again

You've scored runs before, you'll score 'em again. Hope for a collapse lol, come in at 30-5 and score a big hundred. Not that that really counts as pressure free runs though lol. I had the same issue when starting at my new club this season. Played the division below their 1st team last year, but had to start at the bottom (4th team) and work up. I guess until you're an integral part of the team you can't demand anything. You're still young, you'll have setbacks, will work through them, become a better player and be good enough to play 1st team soon enough, just need to take the rough with the smooth and jump through the hoops lol.

Thanks for that advice mate, sound advice :)
Cheers :)

Well I have done an unusual thing and changed leagues/clubs after my first 6 games. Came all the way across the other side of the world based on information that was untrue and just wasnt enjoying myself at all!! Not cool. Anyway, get to play for the new side this week, and have been picked in their ones (have been training with them for several weeks and played a few sunday games). So find myself playing 1st XI Premier Grade....dunno where I will be batting/bowling, just hope I don't get destroyed!!

good on ya man! standard is going to be so much better than the dross you were playing down at yalding!

Who's that for ?

he's playing for the mote matt, he played against my club last week for them and did rather well

Such a frustrating day for me and out team, I opened the batting and batted well until 24, when I got a low full toss which hit my back leg and cannoned onto leg stump as I drove at it. A couple of others got out unfortunately, a one-handed catch in close, and hit wicket. We collapsed from 60-2 to 102 all out. Didnt bowl particularly well and they got there with only 2 wickets down. Really frustrating day!

Our 1s and 2s were off today so went and watched out 3s play our 4s (in the same league). I took the opportunity to take some pictures and the 3s came out on top chasing 92 with 5 wickets down, recovering from 3-3.

Played yesterday on probably the worst pitch I have ever played on, the pitch was near enough all green and looked like it hadn't been cut for a couple of weeks. On a pitch like that and with rain around the toss was always going to be very important. We lost it and got inserted and then the captain decided to tell me that I had to open. I got 13 before being bowled round my legs by their opening bowler coming around the wicket  :( and we were about 30-3 before a partnership got us to 81-3, then there was a collapse of the like I have never seen before where we lost our remaining 7 wickets for 8 runs in 9 overs. We had to bat in rain for most of it and the outfield was like mud sso it was inevitable that when the oppo came out to bat it would be sunny, the outfield smooth and the pitch flat. We lost by 5 wickets in the end but we dropped 3 catches so if they had been held we might have had a chance.
I managed to get a stumping though and my 13 was the second highest score tied with extras  ???

Played yesterday though didnt get to bat.  Pitch was somewhat on the damp side and the game was bizarre.  One stage we had the opposition  6 wickets down for 9 runs.  Was reminded of one of our games in 2008 when we bowled them out for 4 (only brought 9 players)

http://friskney.play-cricket.com/scoreboard/scorecard.asp?id=10845380

They managed to get up to 43 courtesy of some poor fielding and in the circumstances, a good knock by their no 8 bat.

We got the runs for the loss of 5 wickets  :( Our skipper decided to mess about with the batting order and he opened - was out first ball.  Some very soft dismissals, some stupid calling.

Village cricket at its absolute best.

won yesterday, oppo were 25-5 at one stage and we let them off the hook to post 120-9. We had stuck them in due to the deck being pretty damp and green, hoping for it to dry out. However, the deck didn't seem to get much dryer and we struggled after a bright start going from 24-0 to 39-4. Oppo took some brilliant catches but we hit it in the air to be caught. They were getting really cocky and mouthy, loads of chat and pathetic banter. I came in and stodged it out while my team mates used the long handle and we won with 6 wickets down. My contribution was a rather Boycott like 9* and not walking for a fine gloved behind, which I got away with as our lads umpiring didn't hear. That obviously riled the oppo, but they were busy cheating when we bowled -  not giving their guys out when they are plumb lbw. You reap what you sow.

First game back since injury at start of season. Fielded first and were on and off more times than a hookers knickers. oppo got 250 odd and ask how? Didnt do must int he field apart from being in slip most of game.
We had 3 overs back and the heavens opened up more than ever. Called off at 6pm, nice to chase leather for 52 overs in the wet and then not a chance to bat. At least we got to feed on the famous teas we have.

Another home game today in the last 16 of the conference cup against HSBC, looks like i may get a bat today.

Good week for me - got asked to play 20/20 on Thursday night. I'd missed Tuesday night nets at a parents evening, so wife gave me a pass out to play 20/20 instead. Got used as the 5th bowler - 2-22 from my 4 overs which I was quite please with. Oppo hit 125 from their 20

Was asked to bat 4. Went in at 24 for 2. Retired at 53 when the score was 121 (we have to retire at 50 in the competition)

Lost yesterday with a depleted team. Oppo hit 264 from 44 overs. We bowled poorly, but I got my first league bowl of the year (I guess I got chance to bowl as the main bowlers were so poor) - took 6-60!

Batted 4 and hit 26. Top edged a long hop, which I shuold have hit for 4. Was going well, so disappointed not to push on to 50+.

We were all out for 215-ish.

Played 20/20 wednesday night and we set 224 or something insane like that was ridiculous, i didn't bat, i then opened the bowling and took 2-18 off 4 got both openers, took a catch and got them all out for 107 or something. Only lost once all year, and they had 2 pros open the batting for them so
