Finally got a win in the column! Lost toss, bowled first, one of our lads (and one of the main 2 bowlers besides me) turns up late cause of work, so they were 60-0 off 10. Bit of a long day, had a few in the air not go to hand, and I had an awful lot of played+missed off me. And they had 3 lefties, so I had a nightmare against them, 12-1-58-2. I'll bowl much worse and take a hatful! Fielded really well, diving around on the himalaya-esque outfield. Standard village cricket. They got 193, and we were 100-0, had a bit of a collapse but kept getting little 15-20 run partnerships, and I came in at 186-5 with 1 over left (a promotion! Nearly had vertigo!) and managed to get us it off the last ball, an overthrow too! Best part of it was that the bowler was my uni cricket team's ex-president. Such a sweet feeling! Another not out as well, taking my average up to 68 for the season... Amazing!

Things are turning for me, I had a good game today.

Got the oppo 176-8 in 45 overs. I got 10-4-20-4 (my fifth wicket being dropped resulting in a run out) then me and my opening partner putting on 146 with him getting 47 and I finished up with 82 and getting out bowled trying to pick things up (I was bored)

We won with 10 overs to spare :)

Well batted colesy!! Always nice when you hear people getting runs :)

Also gave our 1s skipper a word after dropping me ;)

We lost. I got 3 before receiving the worst LBW decision of my life :(

Normal service resumed, played all round a straight one and got bowled. Some bloke on their team got 2/3rds of their runs, we dropped him three times and bowled like drains.

Played YMCA away and they batted first and got 215-8 we let them go in the field and could of had them out for much less. We batted rubbish and they bowled well and we were skittled for 140. I got 18 and was snicked off by their spinner. We deserved to lose and hopefully it will give us the kick up the a** we need as its our first league defeat in 2 years and complacency was an issue!

We won after posting 215, and bowled them out for 139....other side hadn't lost in 2 seasons after consecutive promotions and winning their 1st 3 this season too.

Scored a cheeky 58 no at #7 and split the toe of the beast :( need some tlc to revive it

You hit the ball hard! You lot were the better team and deserved it!

Yeah think they rely on their opening bats to carry them each week, they hang faced a decent bowling attack tho I fear ;)

I kind of lost a bit of respect for you in the post though as we dont rely on our openers. Ask Bradley Stoke . . .

Well having not played you before everyone said that you had 2/3 batsmen that had scored a hat load of runs on Saturdays and Sundays....the middle order didnt look particularly threatening hence my comment as everyone said they rely on their batting to chase down any total.

Think you will still push for promotion as you have a very good bowling, fielding and batting line up which is hard to find in our league.

Bad day yesterday. 3rd loss in a row for the Saturday side I play in (3rd XI).
Played Barnes at Regent's Park - Shocking pitch, even worse outfield. It was fun to bat, I actually got some backfoot repertoire out! Had a Kiwi left armer who bowled well and gave me some short stuff.
Took one on the Helmet, fine again - Thanks Tom ;) and then swayed out of the next one - blockbuster stuff... 8)
Got to 16 and got bowled by a bowler that gave me too much time to think :(
We got to 190 off 52 - they knocked them off in 40 6 down... :(
Bad day.
That's 4 games on the trot I've lost now :'(

Dunno what you're complaining about, we lost 11 consecutive games over the 2 days! Haha

Ahh OK that does beat me. The last four games I've played in we've lost. Everyone's been losing recently. Yesterday whole club took 1 point out of 50. 1s are on -1 with the leaders on 50.
Not good enough really.

since it was my last game for the season, captain let me open the innings. opposition scored 193/8 in 30 overs. we lost our opener to the 2nd ball of the innings for a 0 (it was his last game also). i used my talisman storm for the first time in a match. it was drizzling for much of our batting. the opposition was down to 9 men when one of their fielders slipped and got the ball on the face and another guy took him to a clinic/hospital. at that time we were 110/1 in 11 overs and cruising. after that we quickened up and scored 197/1 in 17.3 overs. the no. 3 scored 110* of 65 balls and i scored 57* of 39 balls.

that bat is superb and a big thank you to talisman (mike). didn't hit a single ball in anger. just had to time the ball in the gap and the bat was doing the rest. the non-striker mentioned that the sound made was really good. it is the best bat i have used. cant imagine how good a top of the range perfect storm would play if this is just the storm. would recommend to anyone looking to buy a bat.

a great way to finish for me. bit sad that i won't be playing cricket over the next 2 years.
