bowled our fierce rivals Abergavenny out for 149 yesterday. i dropped a tough chance down leg side at full stretch but snared one standing up to a medium pacer.

then i got out in the first over caught behind down leg side for 0. we won by 6 wickets.

we lost. Restricted opposition to 161-9 off 45 overs, an under par score considering we play on a small ground with quick outfield & a really good deck. They had an aussie batting at 3 who was class & scored 60. Not sure where the other 101 runs came from, as the other 10 batsmen were bilge. Lots of streaky edges & chinese cuts methinks! Anyway, said aussie also opened the bowling, bowled 17 overs straight, swinging it both ways & took 6 for. We were all out for 98. To be fair that was partly due to some dubious umpiring, as well as some brainless batting. I of course batted 6 again, & finished 24 not out. Started off scratchy, fishing at balls i shouldn't have, but once i got in & started leaving the ball well i felt awesome. So far now the lowest score i've been dismissed for is 27, i've only ever been dismissed in the last 5 overs in an innings, averaging 45 (mainly due to red ink - high score is 34), yet skipper still won't promote me above 6. Grrr...

Stuck them in at our place on a damp green top and they were 80 odd after 30 overs thanks to some good bowling. Let things slip, dropped catches, poor fielding etc and they recovered to 180 or so off their 45.
Our start was horrible, 3 down in the first 5 overs. Duck for me caught giving catching practise to gully. They eventually knocked us over for about 130.
On the bright side got 2 catches, a run out and my 3rd bye less game of the season.
One guy sledged every ball whilst bowling AND batting and another casually told me our pitch and team were (No Swearing Please) whilst having a chat...nice bunch

we got half of a game in today playing against Jenko's "new" team, got through our 40 overs batting got 228, with myself getting 15 in the outing of my new bat, should have got more .

had a cracking tea, then bowled 8 or so overs of their innings before we stopped playing due to the rain of them of score 40 for 1 with Jenko starting to get going.

Yeah, the guy you stood up to. Out for 4 clean bowled and said it was coz he couldnt be bothered trying coz the bowling was too rubbish.
