Opened and got a first baller. It's been roughly five weeks since I last scored a run due to a lot of DNBs.

Played yesterday and opened the bowling and took 2-12 or something of 4, and batted at 9 and got 7 before the umpire chirping got the better of me and I deceided to walk down and try to smash the opener bowler, only to find my off stump on the floor

I used to play against Friskney and Grainthorpe for my dad's team, Tetney.

Used to play with Phil Burrell at Cleethorpes too

Not seen Phil for a couple of years now.  How long ago were you playing for Tetney?

We played Cleethorpes yesterday, just on topic! At their home ground. Lovely place. Some of their players are a bit iffy though! Bowled first, kept them to 164, which at their ground is a miracle! 14-1-49-1, I bowled at the death too, so I came out of that pretty well. Desperately unlucky not to get more than 1 wicket too. Then went and played a stupid shot batting at 7, 4 ball duck. Gutted, lost by 30 runs in the end!

Superb ground - gutted I don't play there anymore  :(

In what way were players iffy?

Dropped to the 2's this weekend. Apparently averaging 34.5 in the league opening the batting is not good enough! Ah well, all I can do is hit some runs and get back up there Asap!

Tumo, been viewing on my mobile so only just seen you play for Owmby.

Played there versus Louth a few years ago on my Stag Do cricket tour.

Just looked at your score card from Sunday. I see you were playing against Chambo and Andy Haith, in which case I might have an inkling about the 'iffy-ness' you mentioned.

Yeah, our ground is very under-rated we've been told. And yeah, they were very... I don't know how to explain it, but there was something I couldn't put my finger on. Didn't feel right at all. Some of them were very nice guys, the skipper was a good lad, but some were a bit awkward. Keeper had too much to say for himself too. Ahh well!

Was Tolly skippering? We played age group together from U11's upwards.

Chambo and Haithy are the type of people who are good to have on your side but a pain to play against. They tend to test the limits of good sportsmanship.

We were outclassed tonight by a much better side, who play 2 divisions above us (WEPL Premier One). We managed to hit 118 in our 20 overs, despite being 38-5 at one point, I managed 23 off 19 opening the batting. We thought that it was a respectable score, untill ex-Gloucestershire/Somerset batsman Rob Woodman blasted 87* in very little time, knocking the runs off in 15 overs....!

Ahh right. Did a kiwi call Jason Thomson play for them? I play indoor with him and last I knew he just started playing outdoor again after a fair absence.

Not sure... I dont think so, is he a bowler or batsman? I dont think there was a Thomson who bowled, but we only saw two of their batsmen! lol
