Our skip has one and it is a rocket, I just found it quite hard to get on with!

I have seen a few and owned a Cor3, although not a standard one.

I would expect to see a lot of junior Mongoose bats being used in the Somerset area because of the Trescothick effect. Went up to Taunton last weekend and there were no SH bats, just 1 SM which I'm guessing is SSH? and there were loads of junior ones.

I should point out that one of the Worcester lads uses them, but then there is nowhere local that sells them.

Not our business and I doubt it is the sort of thing to ever be made public, but one thing that struck me as odd in last year's IPL was that although Mongoose got alot of air time, lots of mentions, the bats really didn't get used much. Was there perhaps a deal in place where Mongoose had paid for the focus to be on them?

AJ Knowles in Worcester central took stock this season, I remember posting it.

Besides paying Hayden to use it, who scored 93 in 1st outing with it. No.

Interesting, thanks for taking the time to respond. From that then we can assume that the idea must have taken the eye of someone pretty high up in the organisation because the coverage you (they) got was pretty unprecedented in any sporting coverage.

I genuinely hope that this is just a quite period, a gathering of forces, rather than the start of a downward trend because although the brand concept does nothing for me, I admire anyone who has the balls to do it differently.

The coverage was unprecedented because it's incredibly rare to launch such a new radical looking product in any sport. When they do, it generates vast interest. An example is the Speedo swimsuit. Or even Nike with their Pink boots for Bendtner.

I take your point but I think the Mongoose example was more prolific than either of those other two. I remember the furore about the swim suits but I couldn't have told you who made them.

I don't know how things stand with Mongoose at the moment and I have no wish to know, but I suppose you can look at it like this; If a brand can receive so much free advertising from a global brand like the IPL and still not be fruitful, perhaps it is an indication that the concept isn't viable.

Like I said though, I hope I'm wrong.

Do you think that it could be a similair thing to ayrteks (from how I understand). Although the product is proven to work, people may still not want to part with their hard earned cash in case they a) don't get on with it, or b) get the mick taken out of them by team-mates/opposition etc. for believing that something new might make them a better player. I would love to try one but not sure I could justify it until seeing the results first hand.

Quite right, seemingly one of each of the low grade models both adult and junior. So 4 bats, all of which are long gone. So I guess it means they are selling.

By all accounts Ayrtek are getting busier by the day and the hardest part at the moment is trying to keep supply up with demand. :) Now they are being adopted by more and more counties people will be exposed to them more.

There's a little more to running a successful business than that.
