I found the "Sub-Standard" stamp on it interestingly self-deprecating, lol, you'd never see that kind of honesty nowadays - especially from the sub-continent where every piece of rubbish is "Royal", "Super", "Elite" or whatever, no matter what it is, lolol.

Yeah it annoys me as well. There is far too  much sub standard 'grade 1 willow' around.

Even grade 2 is substandard. I have seen some that are extremely concaved, with 5 grains passing as grade 2

Time for another in this occasional series,  and while it's not properly "vintage", it's certainly a modern classic.

I bring you a four star powerbow,  which,  going by the stickers is a gen 1. It's in great condition and still has a remarkable middle. Best of all is, of course,  the marvellous shape. A true eBay bargain. Enjoy!

The Powerbow I have seen from that period was more bottom heavy and had a different profile. Aus model must be different. I love the profile on your model. Early 90s?

I think the powerbow appeared somewhere between 2002 &  2004. It was the successor to the longbow...
