I used to own a Waugh zone bat with the inch longer blade, it was a UK model but had slightly different stickers if i remember correctly. Lovely bat made by Eric Loxton.

I sent it off for a repair to Warrior cricket in Wakefield and he gave it away to someone else  :( and tried fobbing me off with different V100, gutted was an under statement.

Very poor indeed! Hopefully you'll be able to pick up a replacement on eBay in the future (long shot I know)

Starting a collection of late 80s bats (and onwards) that will eventually be displayed on a man cave wall.... :)

This is what I have so far and a couple more on their way.

One of my mates I used to play cricket with about 10+ used to have a lovely Puma with, I think, 6 plugs of a different and supposedly lighter wood. Was a rather neat idea and looked great, can't for the life of me remember what it was called

I had one of these, bought in 1996 from Lillywhites in London (pre SD). They had a rack of about 50 of them for £100 each. Not long in to it's life the handle snapped which slaz repaired but it came back with normal black v100 stickers not the XL Waugh zone. Decent bat at the time and it lasted me until 2001.

Not as vintage as some, but I have a lovely old Double B bat sitting up in the loft. Some of the nicest grains i have seen on a bat, but she's pretty dead now.

About a month ago I saw this on eBay at a silly price (less than a tenner) and decided I would have it. Why? Well my second proper bat was a V12 Super Clear Polyarmour. It was the slightly earlier stickers (red and blue)  but none the less,  it was of a similar era.

I always forget how skinny these seem now when we get our hands on them. This is a full blooded 2'11 bat and seems to bounce a ball of itself quite reasonably!

Anyway,  less of the chat and more of the pictures,  so here are one or two...

I'm a fan of vintage bats and my favourite is my SS Turbo Grand Prix. Bought from John Moore Sports in Bath around 1990 for the princely sum of 99 quid (a lot of money then, cheers dad). It was until quite recently my only bat and was used up to the beginning of last season and had scored quite a few runs. It has always been well looked after. I now collect older bats and have a couple of old slazengers, an Easton, a Stac and a Salix or two. Still looking for a DF Magnum Supreme though. Can't upload any pictures for some reason, when I work out why I'll post some.
It's always good batting with an old bat, the knowledgeable fielders recognise a classic.
