Got lucky today and managed to pick up this beauty (the one on the right obvs)  :)      The other one came with it, but will probably be sold on

Here are some new bats that I have collected recently.  The Excalibur needs a bit of a refurbishment.  The AB 5 Star and the other 5 Star (VR on the back) were good finds as was the 747.  I always keep an eye out for GM Skippers and DF Colts as these were the bats of my youth.

Some nice ones there mate. The big question on refurbishing vintage is how far to go, personally I keep it very light touch, what are u planning for the Excalibur?

I have some stickers so I will remove the black and orange band.  I have replacement round stickers but I want to keep the originals.  Give it a light sand and fill in a crack in the top of the bat.  I like the patina of most of my bats and I'm a bit hesitant to start on the Excalibur.  Always happy for any advice.

It’s been a while since I posted some pics of my vintage GN collection, but finally managed to get a chance to bring them out of their hiding places whilst my wife was Xmas shopping, for a good sort out before we move house in the new year.

Thanks, yes I should have said that I’m only really collecting the scooped or shaped versions. Sold off some other GNs I was collecting and plan to sell a few more including a Predator Atomic   ;)

That Dual T20 takes me back. About 2009/10. When one of the internationals started hitting it off the back of their bat and GN made that.

Went for a bit of a rummage in the shed.....

This was actually a combination of my first and second love  :)

Started life as a wonderful GM Maestro and a couple of seasons later my dad took it to Bernie to get it re-bladed (back when people still did that kind of thing lol). Was an absolute weapon for me.

Some great vintage bats on here including a superb Gray Nicolls collection.
Dragged this one from the loft and thought it might be of interest to some: One of the earliest (1974?) Gray Nicolls Scoops.
Purchased from Holt and Haskell in Southampton.
Shame about the rear sticker but some great memories, a super piece of wood, and it still pings!
