Bridgwater and Yeovil require 12 of each plus the ability to bring your sister and wife along to meals as your plus one.

In the Somerset league you have to get your fingers and toes counted to prove you are not an outsider......

Plus a birth certificate proving that your mother is related by blood to your father. That's what I heard.

johan do we know each other??  haha

Leo,standard is pretty good i would say

our side is in div1 now but only by default as the county league lost a club during the winter so we had to make up the numbers(barnet b's went bust)

i know most of the county league sides thou like highgate, acton etc

the middlesex championship has always been just below county league standards

the county league div 3(lowest) would still be better than our Div 1 standard I reckon..

ive played many games at Highgate and north london, nice grounds, good standard....

Banned Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Amir speaking exclusively to PakPassion.net confirmed that he had featured in a Surrey Cricket League Division One match for Addington on Saturday 4th June.

Amir though clarified the reasons behind his appearance and added that he never knew that the match was a league fixture.

"I was informed by club representatives before the game that it was a friendly match, being played on a privately owned cricket ground. I asked the club representatives if the match fell under the jurisdiction of the ECB and they informed me that the match did not. I spoke to several club representatives about the issue and they all told me that it was a friendly match and therefore would not contravene my ban from the ICC. I was informed that I was fine to play"

Amir who is currently serving a ban for spot fixing during the 2010 series in England, denied that he had signed any sort of registration documents with the club and insisted that he would not risk aggravating his standing by playing in a meaningless fixture.

"I would not be stupid enough to knowingly play in a match that I knew would contravene my ban. Wherever I am going to play cricket, the world will know about it. I would not be stupid enough to play in a match where I knew that I would be taking a risk".

The thing is - he was playing in a village game, most likely for a friend, certainly not being paid... he does appear to have ruined the game somewhat!
it isn't even a Surrey Championship game!!
Just to confirm Amir played in a village game which happens to be in an unaffiliated league in Surrey, NOT the Surrey Championship - on that basis - which is a significantly different prospect, he may actually have been ok to play.

I'll trust him in this because the game doesn't come under ICC/ECB
