It's not him I have a problem with, nor do I have a problem with Trott. What I have a problem with is the fact that the batting line-up is so rigid and both of them bat in the top 3. If Cook continues this form with an S/R of 100+ then it won't be an issue, but if both of them decide they want to bat out 50 overs at a S/R of 75-80 on a belter of a wicket then the chat will start again. If the line-up was based on the game setting then it wouldn't matter.

It bothers me that its ment to be a re vamp of the odi squad there are plenty of players that should be in that team James Taylor hildreth Steve Davies shazad graham onions yes we won dnt take that aww from them but the likes of bopara trott wright should not be in in my opinion

how anyone can say trott shouldnt be in the team is beyond me, he's averaging 52 with a strike rate of 78, which is better than most no. 3's out there and he's scored more runs than anyone else in his first 50 odd games

Steven Davies wouldn't get into the team as a batsman alone, Kieswetter is the man in possession, and Trott is the quickest man ever to 1000 ODI runs. Maybe we should drop Swann as he hasn't taken many wickets this series? Hildreth should be the next man in the team on previous years form but hasn't done much this season to warrant a chance. Therefore, the squad is pretty much the best players in the country although I personally can't stand Stuart Broad but who would come in? Onions? Should be there when fit but can't trust his body and is too similair to Andersen in that if it doesn't swing,loses his potency. Tremlett would be my choice but who knows with the selectors

The issue, prior to this game, was that you couldn't have two one-paced players such as Cook and Trott in the top 3.

Cook is a class act and a sound tecnique like his will always outscore the Dilshans/Kieswetters in the long run... but will he get a long run, this will be the question asked? No opener has been trusted long enough as the English selectors are always tinkering and have little faith. A balanced side will always require the Cooks and the Trotts. Who hasnt opened the batting for England? Just about everyone whom the selectors think will be the next Trescothick ... imo the best England opening batsmen this side of 2000.

I agree I dislike Broad with a massive passion and believe he is greedy and all for himself, and with regards to Graeme Swann, he is the best ODI bowler in the world at the moment, so how can you say drop him, personally i belive Bell is batted too low and i feel that Cook is a Growing ODI player who has a great future ahead. Anderson is a great bowler and should/could never be replaced. Tremlett is a tad hit and miss, look at the game for Surrey against Sussex (T20) he went for 52 in 4 overs... think again

Cook is just in tremendous form, probably the best batsmen in the world on form, whatever task he has been given he has managed to find a way to score runs. Its just a shame that they way he's playing means even less of him in an Essex shirt

It was said with sarcasm mate lol, in response to the comment suggesting we drop Trott lol. Yeah fair enough about Tremlett, so it appears we have reached a verdict.... the England one day team is doing alright. PS, Pietersen hasn't scored any runs recently, shuldn't we be calling for his head again by now?

His batting has gone downhill and is bowling is dire at minute.

Big sulker and a bit of a chalker

Not a fan in the same way i dislike Luke Wright

And do not get me started with Keiswetter that selection is a joke but his domestic form was good so fair play but he is simply not good enough
