It was a genuine mistake ;).

I will play it, Trott and Pietersen played U19 SA. You've also got Kieswetter who may be your next keeper who also played SA U19's. England have 8 players who are from South Africa on the contract list, so there is a theme there.

I accept Strauss and Prior as they moved over when they were 6 and 11 respectively. Same with Khawaja, can't count Symonds either as he move to Aus when he was 2 months. We have heaps of good young players, but the selectors are retarded and pick crap players over them.

Well, 8? Strauss (raised as a kid in England), Prior (same), KP (British parentage), Trott (British parentage), aaand.... *tumbleweed* nope, that's it. Kieswetter had an incremental contract, he may still have one. I'm not sure he's international quality anyway, so for me that's irrelevant. Oh, and for the record, apart from Chris Lynn, Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja, your domestic batting is VERY short on quality. And the bowling is... well, the seam bowling is okay, but the spin bowling is equally dire!

This has been done to death though.

Stop being bitter and accept that you are now (No Swearing Please), just as the West Indies have been since their fall from grace. It doesn't last forever! You had one of the best sides in the world, you were unlucky they all retired at the same time, but where was the next Warne, McGrath, Gilly etc?

As a country we have huge depth in ability. Our counties are full of players that are bloody class.

I don't think you are going to win this one skippy ;)

If you are saying that Australia are going to be like the Windies, I laugh.

Those days are over, they were once in a lifetime players. Test cricket will much more closely contested now as players are very even accross the board. Name me England's Warne, McGrath and Gilly, you can't as that era is gone.

I laugh when I hear this, how can you be full of class, but always pick players from another counrty? It's not like with these players you are absolutely killing it, they are helping yes, but imagine if they weren't there. James Taylor is very good, same with Dernbach but he was borb inb SA although he does now have English citizenship. Don't know of many others.

Not a matter of winning, just giving my opinion.

Andrew Strauss, Matt Prior, Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Craig Kieswetter, Jade Dernbach and Michael Lumb  are all SA born, so 7 not 8.
Of that, Pietersen, Trott and Kieswetter have all played SA 19's/Senior cricket over in SA.

Don't forget Nic Madinson from NSW.

Other than Taylor, who has England got?

Who has England got
Taylor, Hamilton Brown, Roy, Davies, Maynard, Hidrith, Rashid, Borthwick (and loads of others all who would be in this current aussie team) oh and Bopara sort of...

(sorry for the Surrey bias, but these are all seriously talented players...)

Lumb isn't contracted. Kieswetter isn't contracted (I'm certain he's not centrally contracted, I'm 90% sure he's not got an incremental contract, or whatever they call it). So those 2 can be discounted already.

Other than Taylor? Jonny Bairstow, Andre Gale, Luke Wells, James Hildreth, Alex Hales, Moeen Ali, Samit Patel, Adam Lyth, James Vince, Rory Hamilton-Brown, Tom Maynard, Jos Buttler, to name a few (batsmen of course). If we're on about bowling, I could be here even longer... Woakes Onions Briggs Rashid Borthwick Fletcher Harris Finn and I've not even started! And these are guys who have been impressing on the county circuit for a few years now!

Davies is a dudd, same with Bopara. Taylor and Hamiton Brown, but don't know many of the others apart from scorecards that I look at on cricinfo. The best county player going around atm is Trescothick

If you don't know who they are, then how can you say we have no quality!

Onions would be the first pick if he was an aussie. Ahead of Siddle, Johnson and anyone else you have...

He is a really quality bowler.

The way you guys are talking, it's as if you think you demolish everyone. Ashes resut was 2-1, not 5-0.

no, more I think that the Aussies are really weak... I don't even think we would be the Saffa's in SA at the moment.

First innings. Really? He made your lot look terrible. Also, Davies isn't a dud, just so we're clear he's a better keeper AND batsman than any of your lot, and I've kept up with a lot of Aussie cricket, so I'm fairly free to comment on that. Bopara I agree with, he's useless in my opinion, but still.
Also, as far as I remember the Ashes was 3-1...?

Onions is a dud? He'd walk into the current Aussie side and lead the attack.....

Oh, and Ashes result was 3-1 wasn't it?
