It is lively, turn and bounce for Lyon on day one, so Vettori will be looking forward to having a bowl.

When was the last time Vettori turned it?

buzz likes to use ryder as an example of how good u can be with not much footwork and not the best technique!

i didnt really know of the guy till buzz made me watch some vids.

he is a very clean hitter of the ball! i like him :)

he does hit a good ball, good to watch aswell because always likely to be some sort of entertainment

takes some blinding catches in the field aswell

to be fair though, no Australian spinner professes to be anything other than third arte do they?  Vettori is, if some people are to be believed, world class...

Would you believe that, Vettori goes and runs himself out on 96

Would you believe that, Vettori goes and runs himself out on 96 after not really being troubled.

Yep. Clearly spot fixing.

Good sessions by the Aussies, lost 2 early but a good fight back from Ponting and Khawaja.

Anyone see the young gun bowl off?

It was 2 balls to bowl as quick as they could. 2 got the same (134km/h) then had a 1 ball bowl off and the winner was 138 km/h by an 18 year old.

Walden the tall leftie, plays 1st grade at my club and he got 131 km/h

I played against that Steketee bloke and thought he was bloody quick, he got it up to 138 km/h, so was quick indeed. Only problem was that he was erractic and almost bowled every ball short of a length/short.

Just read on cricinfo that Ryan Harris has been told he must get to a point where he can gaurentee that he can play 5 days.

From cricinfo:

"One of the most problematic men among the quintet of players omitted from the Brisbane Tests, Harris, 32, is Australia's best bowler when fit, but seemingly less likely to remain so with each match he plays. Pat Howard, the team performance manager, has decreed Harris must be brought to a point at which he is capable of performing for five days before he can resume with the team."

No run needed there, 1st ball after tea. Completely Ponting's fault.
