the icon is a great bat, big enough edges, not too much concaving and an excellent pickup. But compare that to a Distinction or some of the GN/Kooks "Big Edge" bats and it looks (unfairly) a bit dwarfed.  If you are looking at 50 bats, you'll look at the "Freaks", just to try.

Given the Icon was the bigest selling bat last season for at least two retailers (Romida and Owzat?) surely that is a stand out bat?
That's like saying Asda George clothes are standout compared to Armani, because they sell more. Whilst sales is a reasonable measure, I do think that GM needs a bat which creates a buzz and has something unique about it.

GN have done that fantastically this year with the Scoop. The engraved autographs could potentially be used more in the branding of the bats, alongside a unique shape.

Isn't that what you have the "+" range for?
slightly harsh to compare George to GM but I get your point
Personally I find a lot of those huge bats way too heavy... you have to recognise that most bats sold are in the 2lbs 9-10 region and the distintions are all 2.12 or more typically.

I still think the Diamond for a vintage bat or this shape for a new bat...

David, I think it would be great if our members could somehow be more heavily involved in the product development of this bat - on top of offering up ideas and inspiration for a new design, could we as a forum possibly get involved in demo-ing prototype designs?

I'm sure our Batoff team (especially the Stig) would be well up for this

It could be called the GM Buzz..

..I think I already know one shoe in buyer, regardless of the final design :D

:o :D

Thanks Johnny, althought there have been so many great names, Maestro, Cannon, Purist - I think that is the least of the issues.

Tom, that is a fabulous shape for a bat.
