Gloves for 2012
« on: February 08, 2012, 12:16:34 AM »

I need a new pair, but I'm not sure what to go for. I used a pair of SS LE Camos last year but the webbing split, so I'm not going to be buying another pair. I'm thinking either Kook Silvers, Puma 5000's, or the GN's. Any opinions?

I have the same dilema, bought some but disappointed with them
Unsure what now to choose, maybe the Slazenger Elite or Ultimates 2011 version

It's hard to know what to choose isnt it? I looked at the Slazengers, I'm just not sure about any of them

yep so many to choose from
Iv had slazengers before so I quite like them and also have 2 pairs of slazenger pads so gloves to match would be good

I've got a pair of SS Gladiators and a pair if Ayrteks duelling it out to be my match gloves this season. May be room for one more pair too...
Have always liked the Puma 5000s but not sure about recent colours. Was tempted by Kook Silvers but a few people said the protection level wasn't great which put me off considering the cost. The GNs are very lightweight and I just didn't feel they were substantial enough for me.

Not seen the Slazenger in the flesh but again put off by the looks.

Hmm, the looks puts me off lots of pairs tbh, they're all too tacky!

Since the Alec Stewart gloves that Slazenger brought out in the 90's, I've always thought that they had struggled since, but have to say I do like the look of this years models.

Still think the Wymer Custom ones should be at the top of everyone's list. Same price as off the shelf ones!

Think they would be if they were a bit more accessible

I bought some Kooks Silver Classics for this season and used them at nets last night for 2 hours with a pair of padded SS innners. Woke up this morning with sore hands. Could be that I have'nt kept for years or what you guys say they don't offer much protection. The gloves fit nice and look nice (ok looks don't matter to some, but we like matching kit)

Will try them again to see if I have the same problem might try two pairs of inners?

Have a couple of pairs of Sunridges and like the look of the ones Sangakara is wearing, the 2012 range of the 'Ultimate' are available from Lorimer sports but there £62.99. He has Kooks Silver classic £65 posted.

Sorry for the long thread   :)
