I don't think Bopara is a T-20 player.. he has a good technique but have never seen him winning matches for England. To replace Bopara, England have Ian Bell, cook, Trott, Wright..

Or any one of those.

Bresnan is the better player, end of! Heart of an ox, not the size of a pea! i must admit jw17, you seem to be outnumbered!

Me being outnumbered doesn't make me wrong, and there is nothing wrong with Bopara as a player, hes a good bat, a very viable option with the ball and a fine fielder

I always thought Bopara was over 30 with all the criticism which comes his way. Was really surprised to see that he is not yet 27. He has a better test record than Morgan for one.
Morgan might've flogged the pathetic Windies around if he got the chance

I didn't like Bopara 'til this series, however he has proved that he deserves a place. Two 50's in the first two ODI's when the rest of the batsmen crumbled around him. Without Bopara, Cook wouldn't have got a century in either matches.. He then top scores in this T20 at a decent S/R. What does he have to do to get recognition?

You can't replace Bopara with Bresnan, especially at the moment.

Pietersen and Kieswetter can be very unpredictable, Morgan is out of form, Bairstow is playing fairly averagely and Buttler is still getting used to international cricket. You remove Bopara and the team is going to crumble. Bopara is a batsmen who can bowl abit, Bresnan is a bowler who can bat abit. At this time we need to focus more on our batting than our bowling..

As I have mentioned before taking the same line if you take out Bangladesh from Ian Bell's record his average also comes down quite a lot...

I don't think Bopara is a T-20 player.. he has a good technique but have never seen him winning matches for England. To replace Bopara, England have Ian Bell, cook, Trott, Wright..

Trott doesn't have the adaptability to score at a fast enough rate to play T20's, Wright has proved time and time again that he is about as reliable as a british train... Cook hasn't done much in 20/20's and him being in the team would undermine Broad and Bell has done very little in the shorter forms of the game.. Bopara has adapted has game and is scoring runs at a good rate, don't understand why people are hating on him..

Must admit, Buttler hasn't covered himself in glory after being given a wonderful opportunity. The boy can certainly play though! Bopara did the hard work then lost his head. I have never seen him win a game for England and using up that many balls, what he did was criminal. He got extremely lucky in the first ODI, being missed stumped and dropped, then played alright in the 2nd, but only alright! When was his last Intl. ton. how many teams look at the England team sheet with him in it, and quake in their boots? He's a passenger and obviously someone's favourite.

2 years ago, Trott scored the most T20 runs in the season, at a lick higher than 100. He also has quality in spades.

Jonathan Trott is a fine 2020 player, first to score 1000 runs in domestic 2020 and is just class, its always puzzled me why he isnt in the 2020 squad.
