4th best bowler in the series, whats wrong with that?

http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=6860;type=series

Taking wickets is ideal, he didnt really do that.

Not going for many runs, he also didnt do that. He went for 169 runs @ over 5 runs per over.

Sometimes you need a bowler who can bowl tight or take wickets. He failed on both KEY parts of being a bowler.

certainly the weak link in the fielding unit!

obviously you did not watch the recent games, he's actually fielded very well. Took a brilliant low catch a couple games ago.

And dropped at least 2 dollies. He made the diving catch look a darn sight better than he should have done by falling over.

He took 5 wickets and was the 4th best bowler? I don't see anything wrong with that.
He also took a couple of bloody good catches in the field.

No you're quite right, for an average cricketer, whom you expect very little of, 5 wickets at 33.8 is a decent return

For me I see something in Ravi which says he could be a top performer. He hasn't yet really delivered but he some how seems to have qualities that others don't. He seems to have more time to select his shot than anyone I've seen since Gower played. He may be too laid back for his own good, or so it seems. He clearly has talent and that's probably why he's so frustrating as we are all expecting much more.

It makes me laugh when some of you say if you take away his hundreds against the West Indies he would be a poor player. If we took away all of Bell's failures against Australia he would be a world beater, if we discounted Tendulkers hundreds he'd be average, if we took off Hayden's 390 against Zim his average wouldn't look so good, if we discounted the England players performances against the West Indies during the 80's we'd have been a good team. That's why we measure players by their AVERAGE!

Bairstow, Buttler or maybe even Cross. Quite a fan of him too! :)

There's nothing even wrong with Bopara or Patel.

Cross is a bit fair out of the radar, but I rate him.

I can't see what he or Bopara have done wrong since they've come back into the ODI squads.
