Thank you guys.. I've never met you but it's nice to be congratulated by fellow cricketers on this forum and wish I'd never had that 22 year break between school and playing the beautiful game again...

We batted way too cautiously, I came in at 5 and got caught for 4 trying to push the run rate, we ended up all out for 87 off 30 odd overs. The oppo came out guns blazing and were on 40-0 off 5, I came on and got a wicket with my first ball and ended with figures of 5.4-1-17-1 but we lost. And I forgot to pack suncream(as I didn't think it would be on) and got majorly burnt  :( Not a good day.

My season has been good from a team perspective. 3 matches, 3wins.
The first game we bowled the opposition out for 82. I batted 8 went in with seven to win... And bagged a first ball duck, I chopped on.
Second game we won be 6 wickets. I went in at 4 and batted slowly to 5 3rd ball after drinks i prodded a catch to short mid wicket.
Game 3 a T20 game. Bowled the opposition out for 52, opened, my partner got 35 not out and I got 10 not out. Not a good season so far with the bat. But hopefully ill get a few runs tomorrow and maybe even a few wickets.

Played our first league game today, and won! Unbelievable game really, batted first and hit 133 (I opened and hit 14, got myself out just as I was feeling good, chipping one to the bowler after it stuck in the pitch). Bowled Weston Super Mare out for 127, after they were 90-5. Played amazingly well as a team, with no-one really having a stand-out game. Unbeaten so far this season (unless you count the toss of a coin lol)

Good game in general for the team today, we bowled first and the oppo scored 140-9 from 45 overs. I bowled the final over and took a wicket and went for 1 run. Then opened the batting, hit a 4 second ball through the covers, the next ball was a half tracker which I played a vertical pull shot and was caught at mid-off..Fuming!

We slumped to 47-7, and managed to win by 1 wicket! The last pair put on 32 for the last wicket

Really happy with my cricket today, nothing amazing, but still good.
Played for the 2's against Ombersley 2's. Didn't have a bowl, but was trusted with the entire leg side at one point. Took a quality catch, best I've ever taken in the deep. Went VERY high, swirling, had to cover about 20m and then dive slightly to get it. Q-U-A-L-I-T-Y :)
Batting came in at 8 with 10 overs to go in hopeless situation on a nicely turning but very unpredictable track. Stuck around for 7 overs, holding off some good bowling, before being yorked for 7. BUT- It stopped a collapse ;) Some Worcestershire bloke was behind the stumps :)

Called up to keep for the firsts, spent 40 of the 50 overs standing up to the stumps so I'm knackered now. Took a catch, dropped a Sharp chance off a medium pacer.

Batted at 10: got a golden. We lost.

Well, my first year as caption this year. Last week, first game, bowled them out for 149. We were all out for 57.

Second game today, we were all out for 56. We had them 10-4 before they hit it off 5 down.

I wish I was captain so I could bowl myself I took 32 wickets with best figures of 7-2-18-6 and I haven't bowled once in our first four games? Can't understand why

Well I bowled myself 12 overs last week as I had to. Bowled well though. Today I bowled the first over, took 2 wickets in the second over of the match, but couldn't get through my action, with a few wides. So brought myself off

Sam Spurway, wasn't he something to do with the Somerset setup sometime?

Yes mate he played a few games for them and did very well actually, think he got a couple 50's and an 80. Odd circumstances why he left but can't remember them. Helluva player, just not as favoured as Cazzard. Prince Louis is something else mind as well, if he scores a bucketload of runs again, they might do very well.

How did Westlands do today?
