Got 40 yesterday should have walked on 10 but as only had 9 thought sod it. Continued then to hit lots of drives dealing in boundaries.  Before hitting full toss to cover.  This is my weakness knee high full tosses keeping going to cover.

Season on the whole for the team has been awful and we stare relegation in the face and the possibility of losing a few players but yesterday with five under 15's turning out for the 1sts against a team second in the league, we gave a good account of ourselves.

Okay we lost, but only just and made the opposition work for their win and you could see the relief on their faces when they took our last wicket.

On a personal note, I think I'll stick around, I like the club and the guys and where else would a 52 year old wicket keeper in his first season after a break of 12 years enjoy his cricket like I do.

And the glass is always half full

Lost again yesterday, which means we've lost every game played this year!! I batted well yesterday, came in at no.4 where we were 4 for 2, I scored 34, in around 14 overs, where our opener ( my brother) scored 4 in that period. Apparently he couldn't get his eye in!! All out for around 80 odd I think chasing 150.

Played for a friendly team called Barford who are a virtual over 40s team who play very social Sunday stuff. Oppo got 154-6 in 40 and we knocked them off for 5 down with nearly 3 overs to spare. Followed up on yesterday with the yawn inducing figures of 7-4-8-0 and a cheeky 13* to see my team home.

Question for the Bristolians. What day is 'cricketer of the week' in the Evening Post? I know I won't win it but want to see if I feature.

Looked good in my 13 on saturday, then missed a straight one.  Took a sharp catch at slip to go with it.
6 on sunday, getting out caught and bowled, the bowler needing about 13 attempts to take the catch, although I did manage to break his finger with the drive!  Took another 2 catches at mid on, 1 high steepler taken at the 2nd attempt, and a low stinging drive that i took using the wrist/knee combo, that is now proving rather painful!

Came in at number 7 yesterday, which was one of the highest batting positions I've been given this summer, and made my top score of the summer (an unbeaten 38).  Unfortunately was in a losing effort though...

Actually had nine innings this year, and only got out three times.  At least I will lead the side in one statistical category at least - the good old N.O.!  :)

Was a good effort that, 86 looked a very low total but your lot bowled and fielded very well.

Best performance of the day was in the U11's final. Young lad in an Ayrtek for Bristol CC retired on 25, came back in as they only had 8 players and ended up with 60 odd then took 4 wickets in 4 balls when bowling!

yeah, we have a few like that - yesterday we had a guy opening the bowling, keep for twenty odd overs, bowl at the death, open the batting then leave as soon as he was out!
