played a cup game tonight against a team from 2 divisions higher. We batted first on a slow, but reasonable track and amassed a grand total of 72 in 14.1 overs. We might of played a few too many shots lol. We decided to "have a go" and attack but they were 20-0 off 4. Turned to spin with me and our leggie came on and picked up a wicket each, reducing the rate to a crawl. By 10 overs they were 33-2. We kept on picking up wickets and their rather timid batting helped lift the rate. They got to 13 needed off 12 and 7 off the last only to have 2 run outs. We sneaked home by 3 runs.

My efforts were 2* with the bat, coming in at 11. I also bowled 4-0-10-1, our leggy 4-0-8-1 and our opening bowler 4-0-8-1.

That kind of game gives t20 a bad name lol

Had my first t20 game of the season tonight. On the pitch that we were bowled out for 21 on! :( the oppo batted first and scored 107-5 from their 20 overs, got 1-13 from 2 overs. Bowled the 17th and 19th over. So I'll take those figures.
Then opened the batting and made 27, after Sundays duck it felt nice to feel bat on ball. We managed to win with 5 balls to spare, with only 3 wickets down, rest of the batsmen scoring 14, 31, 0, 20* and 12*

Good start to my brief t20 season. Bring on the weekend!

Had my second T20 last night too. It was a work game at Kingsholm CC, which is a lovely setting. Couldn't ascertain which the cut strip was, but the ragbag bunch of bowler the oppo had negated it a bit. Batted three and got 27 (we retire at the end of the over when we get 25 - i was bowled wiping a half tracker that rolled) and my ondrive is grooving nicely...

Put in the shade by my mate who opened, he got to 25 off the first ball of the over and retired on 47! He put one over the road with a sweep. It was a massive hit.

another shocking t20 tonight. No real reason for it, wicket was easy paced and true, ball might of swung around a little but nothing else doing. We restricted the oppo to 69-9 in 20 overs and were walking it at 40-1 off 9. We collapsed to 52-7 and scraped home by 2 wickets. Should never of been that close, the outfield was slow but 130 was probably par. Simdog top scored in the match with 32.

Had two games this week, 2 cup games.
We won both games quite comfortably, opened the batting in both. In the first one I only made 6, but we posted a decent total of 147, but I took 3 wickets in 3 overs - however some dodgy keeping made my figures look pretty bad in the end.
In the game last night, I batted through getting 79* - didn't get a bowl this game, but we won by about 30runs or so, so I wasnt needed to. Good week thus far.

Good game this week. Played in the league and we batted first, getting to 202 for 7 off our 20. I opened the bowling (first time I've bowled in about 4 weeks) and aside from a couple of serious wides on the offside, had it zipping all over the place. Sadly none of the balls that lifted carried to fielders and I came away with no wickets.

Instead we had them all out for 83 in about their 14th over... One might class it as a bit of a walkover!

Last Man Stands last night, and we knew we were up against one of the weaker teams in the League. We scored 186-5 from our 20 with two guys on >50*, and my abysmal attempts to slog failing with me getting 4 off 5, then we bowled them all out for 126 in 18, with a frustrating bowling innings resulting in people playing and missing and the ball going over the stumps on many occasions. Still, a win is a win...

played a very social t20 monday. I gave everybody a game, which meant we didn't get off to a flyer. Let our 51 year old grinder open and we flew off to 7-2 off 5 overs lol. Got to 112-5 off 20 eventually. Let our 65 year old donkey dropper open and gave everybody 2 overs, barely paying an attention to the field - I was actually trying to give them runs at one point lol. Lost with 9 balls to spare, but everybody got a bowl and enjoyed it. Main thing is the oppo, a bunch of lawyers lay on free food and bar so it's very much in our interest to lose  :D

Our t20 league game was rained off today. Oppo groundsman called it early and it brightened up this afternoon  :(. Simmy was gutted!

Had a T20 match today against some very weak opposition, I came in at number 4 and was dropped three times on the way to 25 before having to retire. Sadly this luck ran out when I came back out for the final ball of the innings with the bowler on a hat-trick and I skied one to mid on. We were on 102-2 off 11 when I retired yet we ended up with 137-8 off 20 which was a little disappointing, during the latter part of the innings we were going at about 3 an over(including a triple wicket maiden in the final over) at the time you are supposed to be accelerating the rate..

Luckily we weren't made to pay for this as we skittled them out for 67 off 14 overs, sadly I didn't take any wickets in my two overs however I did take a catch which kinda makes up for it..

We had 2 T-20's scheduled for last saturday, first one got washed out, got in the 2nd one where we lost the toss and batted first. Scored 123 in 20 overs and were very comfortbly defending it when I decided to throw the ball to a new bowler who gave away 19 runs in the over..decided to bowl the next over myself and gave away maybe 3-4 runs in the over, last ball of my over the batsman hit one high which thought was caught at the boundary turn around to see ball pop out of the fielders hand :(.. and all of a sudden had massive downpour and lightining...we came off the field with their score at 94/5 after exactly 16 overs..first thing i said to my team was well done but we have lost the match..anyways plug in the number into DL Calculator and par score at 16 overs was 95 with 5 wickets down...so ended up winning by one run :)

side note: Lekka's toe cracked in that match..that is after me knocking it for hours...its not on the face, hopefully superglue will hold it...

Cheeky game Wednesday night, 16 8-ball overs. Oppo were 49-0 off 6, so I was brought on to stem the flow and take wickets. 5 overs, 34 runs and 6 wickets later, it's fair to say I did a job. Got their overseas pro out and a few ECB leaguers, always nice! Chasing 143, we started off well but slowed down, needing 17 off last 2 overs, I walked in at 11, and couldn't seal it, picking up 3 then playing round a straight one!
