I played against a couple of guys today who were head to toe in millichamp & hall.

They didn't score many runs between them though :D

Lukeys Sports bat on show at Ambleside today, first one I've seen in the Westmorland League...after watching the  ball fly over the ropes for two huge sixes I decided that it had a reasonable middle on it, despite the batter telling me it was only £80.

Lukey does get his bats from a few different places, and does have an £80 range

Our opposition skipper yesterday had an M&H bat and bag, didn't stop him walking into one and getting a quick one on his elbow and having to sit out the rest of the game!

Johnny

It was quite a nice looking stick, modern profile but fairly subdued...for £80, I would say a bargain!  The guy using it said he was given it to try out and could take it back if not impressed, I think it's fair to say he was impressed.

Played against a guy during the week who was using a bat that had ZA stickers, never seen this brand before and it seemed to go okay, he said he got it from a mate in Pakistan but it looked pretty old and well used - anyone heard of these before?

He also had a brand new M&H Distinction in his bag that was too heavy for him and he was going to send back to M&H to have some weight taken off.  I picked it up and it felt pretty nice to me but it was 2lb9oz and I'm used to something heavier, wasn't impressed with the grainage but the spine height was very impressive!  Still think I prefer the older profile.

We'll be playing them again (weather permitting) in a few weeks so if I can I'll get a picture of the ZA.

Another chap in his team had a Bellingham & Smith bat, classy player and a nice sounding bat, didn't get a close up look at the bat.

I saw a redback paradox in my midweek game this week. First one I've seen out in the wild other than mine. Looked like the baby brother of my 3lb monster but went well.

Saw a Laver Private bin on show. Asked him if it was knocked in and said it sounds clunky cos it's got the carbo handle insert.
Looked nice.
