Played against a guy on Saturday who batted in SP batting mittens and had an original Scoop with a white facing.

Couldn't tell you how good the bat was though as he spent 13 overs scoring 3 runs. The oppo managed 71-8 in 46 overs chasing our paltry 97 AO - worst game I've played in for years!

A little, but also a staggering lack of ambition on their part. They scored 6 off the last 13 overs. They needed 30 runs from 20 overs I think.

I bowled 4 overs of lobs for 6 runs.

They just patted everything back - all for 1 point!

Incredible.

A young lad the other week had a Vulcan at Coggeshall, custom made stickers. Play with somebody who has a Zeus as well which is a gun! I still want to see a H4L in person :(

If you want to see a H4L in person you could buy mine? :D

Woodstock Tour De Force Platinum

Saw a guy from the other team use the Woodstock this weekend. Wow! He hit two effortless sixes, and to be honest he did not look like a half-decent batsman. I can only imagine what this would be like in the hands of a quality batsman. Initially, I thought it was a Newberry from a distance (similar labels IMHO) but during one of our breaks, I had a chance to get an up-close look and was super chuffed to see someone use a unique brand like Woodstock in the SS, GM, GN, CA saturated market that Canada is. I would not say it was super meaty, but it picked up like a dream and the profile seems tailor made for slow/low artificial wickets. Tempted...

Don't mention Tarun Nethula - he was playing as overseas pro for a team we played against and he clean bowled me. Think he took a 5-fer against us and then looked like a decent bat too! Really nice guy too!
