Was in the lowest level of Norwegian cricket mind you, but 199 in 30 overs batting at 4 is still a fair effort.

Had a look today at the 2012 starts for Play Cricket as a whole to see who achieved the most wickets as a wicket keeper last year.

A junior seemed to come in at number 3 who also plays for York 1st XI in the ECB Yorkshire League which is pretty impressive all round.

Had a look at a couple of scorecards and came across this.

Look at how the first ball of the innnings went for Hull CC, how does that even happen for the 1st ball of the innings at that level?

Amazing!

Stumped down the leg side? Pretty easy to happen as that's one of the highest levels of club cricket

Doudbtful as no wides in the innings and anything down legside at that level would be wide wouldn't it?

Not that I know of. He might have just lifted his foot slightly to a normal ball outside off

Swift glovework, or perhaps he was batting well outside his crease and the stumper had a pop from distance?

Playing cricket with 8 players is never fun. having spent last season with most games having 8, it always bugged me how the opposition captain wanted to bat first. it was clear they was going to win and smash us around with the gaps in the field. but this form of posting a massive score which a team of 8 players is not going to get just destroys the game. this often puts the younger players into a bad mindset about the game and may not want to play games. At many of our levels cricket is played for enjoyment as for many of us our county days are far behind us.

On the flip side, if you are against 8 players and you bowl first, and they only post a small ish total (say 150-170) then with the gaps in the field it's less of a game for them. I'd imagine that and the fact people can see 50/100's being easier than normal means they bat first. I have to admit I'd bat first and be aiming for a 50/100 just for personal stats. LIke you say, the win is obvious (assuming it's a similar level of players!).

I know that's probably the most fun for the team with 8 but I'd imagine most would do this as they would enjoy it more.

Well this is a while ago now. But the league didn't have bonus points for batting. Being that we was the whipping boys the year before winning zero and getting bowled out for under 100 will a full squad they knew what they was doing.

Safe to say fortunes went up after this ending up mid table.
