Always nice to see an overseas get pleasure in destroying 13 year olds bowling. Where does that rank alongside his first class cricket achievements?

We had a kiwi who was a gun player and if realised he was far too good, he'd simply remove himself from the game. Bat 11 not bowl and just field. He loved playing any game of cricket and loved seeing everyone else do well. But refused to ruin other people weekends if the teams were mismatched. He took no personal enjoyment from smashing kids or old men about. Shame there aren't more about like him.

My Sunday league team newly formed in 2011 have progressed through the mansfield district league's with a few promotions whilst picking up a few players, yep we win most weeks and hopefully the league will place us at a suitable level next year. But we tend to give everyone a go. On several occasions this year our opening bowlers have been clearly too good and have been removed from the attack within the spirit of the game. the only teams we've occasionally bullied are the 'big clubs' in the league that play the odd 1st teamer with several county/district youths cos just because. But never those nice little village teams. :)

Very old bump on this, but wasn't really worth a new topic. Anyone seen this today?

Well batted that woman.

You can imagine the dressing room 'right all you had to do was stay with me, anyone of you other 10 got anything to say?'

I played an under16 game where my team was bowled out for 7. Yep, 7. I came in at 3 and got 4 n.o and the rest got ducks. The other 3 runs were wides.

They were the best team and we had 3 under 12's filling in, but still. Easily the lowest moment of my cricketing career.

Just read the cricinfo article - apparently she also got 289 out of 352 in a 50-over game last week!! Seems likely she'll be destined for bigger things than U-19 tournaments.

lots of mismatches in the lower divs of that league at the minute due to the merger of the previous SCYA with all the top teams in that league been shoved into the bottoms divs!

That's our second XI, they got placed into the bottom division but steam rolled a lot of the sides in that league. The players that got the runs and wickets that year are inbetween our first and second teams

This in my opinion is just wrong. But some may not agree

http://yorksderby.play-cricket.com/website/results/2966536

So the away side post 219 from there 46 overs.
Rules in our league are if you don't make 50% of the first innings score, you forfeit all bonus points, and oppo receive full points regardless of if you manage to bat out or not.

So it baffles me why they slow marched to 34 runs from 29 overs, of which 14(the top scorer) were extras.
So that's only 20 runs off the bat in 29 overs.

Anyone else able to explain what they were going for? Surely they can't enjoy cricket like that? (either side)

Like to point out for anyone claiming a mismatch, the team who got 34 were our entire league champions as recent as 4 seasons ago........

Not a bad effort in 40 overs!

Egerton is a small ground, but 41 sixes is some hitting!

Having put in that effort I bet he was gutted not to carry his bat...

Good to see he had a bowl too, making sure he got his match fees worth!

360 runs 2 wickets and a catch, I'd be pleased with that in a season, never mind in one game  :D
