For those whinging probably right to understand a couple of things first

1) It was competitive league cricket not a Sunday friendly.
2) The guy was playing at his level not a first teamer playing down
3) Declarations are banned in the league and clubs get a points deduction and fine if you declare so you have no choice but to bat your innings.
4) Just appreciate a decent knock?

Respect your right to an opinion but at the very least point 2 is wrong - the Nidderdale is one of a number of smaller leagues in that part of the world that play 1st and 2nd XI games on different days to allow some cross pollination.  He played for their ones the day after in their scheduled fixture.

This happened today in our league......

Got to feel sorry for peter Whitley, duck opening the batting and then went for 11 runs of the only 5 balls his side bowled.......

I think the note at the top is spot on. It would have not been a lot of fun to watch a side rack up over 300 runs then attempt to chase it with 10 men made up juniors and volunteers. They all got a bat and fair play to them they stuck around for 15 overs

Early finish there!! Last week we were all out for 58, one of the openers got 40 of them and there were 7 ducks. Finished for quarter to four

The score card isn’t up yet. But in my league tonight.

Mike Simpson of Sheffield collegiate score 237 not out from 62 balls in his sides 304for 0 from 12 overs!(8ball overs). (30 sixes and 9 fours)

That is some serious hitting!!!

Oppo were 77 all out and looked tononly have 9 men mind.

Does there come a point when it stops being a good innings and starts becoming pointless bullying of a weak opposition?

people are always gonna look for the downsides in everything.

Khan are a premier league club, that have been in that division for a while.

The opposite fixture, collegiate only chased down the oppos score with 3 balls left of there innings, a closely fought  contest.

The division has many pros play in it, billy root has played  a few this year, a few fringe ipl players, a sri lankan t20 champion, and every sides overseas plays week in week out.

Micheal Simpson is not colleagiates pro or anywhere near, he’s a builder and turned up at the game straight from work.

Who’s to tell him to stop when he’s in the zone? It’s the lads  opportunity for 5mintes off fame.

I'd agree with the above when it's high level cricket or someone playing at their usual level, different deal when it's a low level or someone clearly playing below themselves.
