I think that SA have the cutting edge; Philander is a much better bowler than I thought. Their spinners are cack though.
If they pick Hughes they're mad - Morkel will eat him for breakfast, c Petersen at third slip. In fact I'd think about Hussey at three, but it won't happen...

SA will have to guard against complacency. I would also think that Aus saying they're going to rotate the young quicks plays into Saffer hands - strange for the bowlers' heads too.

I have a feeling that it might be a drawn series.

It will be interesting to see what side the Australians do turn out - one assumes they will keep Ponting and Hussey until they drop, even though common sense remains in favour of calling time on one or the other.  Mind you, as has been discussed here before, they don't really have a surfeit of back up batsmen (though I repeat my opick of the last three years that Maddinson will go on to be a good test player for them).

Nice to see the Spaceman, now an honorary Yorkshireman, back in the Test reckoning.  And Johnson not in the reckoning...

I'm almost 100% sure Sky will be showing SA Dishing it out down under in the same fasion they did up here in England... SA will take the series.. One day stuff I don't think we stand a chance...

The only effect SA had on England's team spirit was the the good work on the field. All the rest of it was there before we came to town....

The Aussie Test squad looks good - only bit of contention over Wade for Haddin (in NSW only, I would think).

If it swings I still feel they're prone to a collapse, but that attack looks worryingly good - I think Lyon is a fine prospect. I'm glad they've stuck with Cowan, much less likely to be caught at third slip off a piechucker.

Didn't get to watch any, been at work all day listening here and there on the radio. Luck is always needed to win a test, it seems like SA have had a fair bit of it already. Not doubting them tho they are all class gonna be tough for Australia this test/series
