SG Cricket bats
«
on:

Has anybody used or seen these bats in the flesh at all? I do remember somebody posted that they got a SG bat and gloves on here recently and it looked really nice. I fancy trying and Indian bat. I believe this is Rahul Dravid company?
If anybody could help or point me in the direction of where I may be able to find one that would be great.

i trained with a lad from india who was 13 and sponsored by them, he was really talented etc he told me sachin had coached him(don't know how true that is) but the bat really did fly and had very nice grains.

I had a VS319 Ultimate that really wasn't very good. It was beautiful but rubbish. Others have had better experiences.

Does anybody actually stock these bats softs etc? Ideally one of the forum shop sponsors would be great?

I have used about 4 SG cricket bats, 3 of them were really good. They take a bit of time to play well. They are widely stocked in India. I don't know if Rahul Dravid has any partnership with the business but he certainly used their kit most of the time. Nikunjind who is a forum member here sells SG bats .

SG is a 50/50 bat for me, their good one are really good and bad ones are really bad...they could look very very nice bats but not perform...from presonal experience i have never had a SG bat that played well and have only seen one with a mate that was actually good...funnily ennough Kooka's play better imo for a bat coming out of same factory but you also pay more or used to pay more of them...

Souls, I don't think there are many stockists in the UK, I think CJI cricket in Bournmouth used to - but I can't think of anyone else.
I've always preferred SS both on performance and cosmetics.

Well thats at least 2 people that have said the performance is patchy so think I may just steer clear. SS are ok but over half the bat is covered in stickers and I just don't really like that look. SF that a lot of the SL players use may be my next avenue to check out.

Yup, Kier and Asad both do blank SS bats and I have seen some beauties. I have a couple of SS's in the 'hidden from the wife cupboard'.
Colts cricket in Chessington carry SF I believe.
