Paul had his chest guard nicked on Friday night at Lord's :(
That is absolutely terrible.  At the oval I might expect it, but Lord's, The Home of our beloved game, Cricketing Mecca?  Absolutely revolting.  I hope the culprit is caught.

Benson Fox is different to Stretton Fox - and uses different technology and ideas. George did start off with Mr Benson, but they went their separate ways.

Paul at IJC will be doing them I think

Ok, thanks buzz. So are they competing in the same market?

It would appear so - however having discussed the products with George, his implecation was that his product is very different to the previous product he worked on with - with the new product being thinner and more protective.

In terms of how good are they? I don't know because I haven't tried them, but having had a couple of balls come off the hip protection on my Aero P2s on Friday night, and not feeling them, I concluded that at the level I play, £80 thigh pads really aren't needed and I can sepnd that on a bat ;)

I'm please with my P2's also, I suppose it's that Ayrtek over Masuri argument. Do you need to spend top dollar for the best protection money can buy or does the level you play at not require that level of protection or investment.

Well, there's that and then there's also the difference in risk between forcing a ball between the grill and peak of a helmet yourself off the edge and the amount of damage that can do versus the damage that a ball hitting hip/thigh can do. The latter is much less likely to be incapacitating.

I'm waiting for the Stretton Fox boots though. I'd love to have something to protect my toes.

Now there's a thought!
My left foot is now 20 shades of bruised after three, yep three direct hits. One each from; Tim, Scott, and my son.
Some kind of foot protection would have been useful. I'm now wearing dealer boots at my Officers club today!  (Don't tell the hear steward!)

Aha thank you sir, I may've missed this bit will any retailers be stocking these?

Yep, will have them in stock by the end of the week.  Hopefully the courier won't have the same idea as that thief at Lord's, whomever he was!  >:(

Good to hear and very good timing, Adam! We'll have all the new Slazenger and Salix bats in by then too.  And the Hammer Platinum softs...

Paul i'm gutted to hear that and really sorry it has happened. Was it an open session or do you know most of the people who were there ? as its not like someone can just turn up now saying they bought it as I can tell you who has !
I guess it's a compliment to the company that something is worth half-inching but really not cool. Will catch up with you later this week on the phone mate.

Any plans for boot protection George?

It was an "open session" in as much as all the nets were booked, but there were plenty of people milling around.

Well it is a bit dodgy with having the kit trolleys with lots of kit on display - it's quite open to be honest as we didn't even have to sign in with any receptionists/security - and in theory, we could have just gone to that kit trolley and took a lot of kit and walked back out without being questioned (unless being caught by the persons netting)

Yes, I wasn't impressed by that aspect. "Please leave your kit where it's easily nicked, but this is Lord's you know, so it won't happen"...
